caution of buying goods from a seller

Hi all,

unfortunately, here we may be going again.

i was contacted by another member yesterday about goods he purchased from a seller on here called "stevetease". he has sent the £250 agreed and the goods haven't turned up. i also left a deposit of £50 for an AVCR with the rest to follow on the 28th of this month.

Obviously hearing from the other member set the old alarm bells ringing and i then phoned the number given by the seller after not getting a reply to a PM yesterday. the number given is for a company in the midlands and obviously, this chap doesnt work there.

i have sent nother PM to the seller basically saying i hope its a misunderstanding and that i also hope he hasn't tried to rip me off, or the other member for that matter or anyone else.

hopefully he will get in touch and it'll all be sorted, but to be honest, it doesnt look good does it. so stevetease, if your out there fella, get in touch, deliver the other chaps goods, and either meet me face to face to complete our transaction or refund the £50.

as i said in the email i sent to you, if you dont, I WILL contact the police and they can go through the paypal transaction for an address.

So far, hopefully, its a misunderstanding, and i'm not saying anything concrete about the seller. but i thought the rest of you should know so that until its resolved, no one else sends any money to this guy.

if he does get in touch i'll delete this post and keep you updated.

cheers

Needforspeed I feel for you I myself chasing upandunder for a defi which I paid for and he has never been in touch.. can't understand why this happens I mean advertise pay receive it's not that hard to do ........

Trinity 19 August 2009 06:29 PM

~Did you pay as a GIFT on paypal?

this is the limitation of asking payment to be by GIFT. There is no come back with Paypal on this because a gift , is not a purchase for goods, therefore they cant intervene.

I do ask for gift when selling things as to not get stung by the paypal charges, but i know im honest as they come. Might be worth, when selling things, that the buyer can pay the paypal charges to do it as a proper transaction if they are unsure and then they are covered withh PayPals buyer protect system.

Hope you get it sorted dude. PM the mods, and see if they can see online activity from his username, if hes been online then they can know for sure he is just ignoring you.

Grr, p***ses me off!!!!

up to you

shag 19 August 2009 09:20 PM

While were all at it im still waiting for a refund from "WMSCOOBY" for an ecu i purchased . was promised a full refund 100% . that was 2 months ago tried phoning and text but no answer hmmmm. funny that!!!!

wrighty338 19 August 2009 09:32 PM

this is bang out of order, we need a disputes section and a way for mods to be able to track these people when signing up - its only fair.

having personally been ripped off over £600 last year over forums and stuff not turning up - im all for it. its got to stop.

erchie84 19 August 2009 09:33 PM

Burn the f@ckers that's what I say

need4speeduk 19 August 2009 09:33 PM

right quick update!!!

just spoken to coops and he's up for a visit on the weekend of the 28th-30th.

so far the costs of this adds up to roughly £600 from at least 4 members.

so gc8-r and jamiedream what say you??? you up for it???

jaywrxsti 19 August 2009 09:43 PM

i thought all the stuff he was selling was to cheap , did wonder if it was a scam j

coops1 19 August 2009 09:45 PM

Getting the address checked on the police computer now so should have an answer very soon as to who lives at the address given :nono:

stevie1982 19 August 2009 09:50 PM

It's about time the mods, or guys that run these forums step up and make sure it is a safe place to trade. Keep hearing to many stories of people getting ripped off on here. Best of luck guys

need4speeduk 19 August 2009 09:55 PM

then thers the bank account details from paypal. opps. seems like you may have ripped the wrong people.

moral of this story is: you never know who your messing with or who the people your messing with may know.

still time and opportunity to do the right thing and if i were you i'd take it

coops1 19 August 2009 09:57 PM

No luck on the computer im afraid. Voter role next I guess.
Why are there not restrictions on here for people selling stuff. Im not talking about posts coz anyone can bump up posts but there should be a combination of time scale ands posts before people can sell or something

jamiedream 19 August 2009 10:10 PM

hey people.. i dont give a sh*t im afraid, im coming if aint recieved my turbo by then. sod the police, will even take my turbo off to beat the sh*t out of him with. am actually screwing, i just got that he lived in isle of weight.

Steve if your hoping that im a pussy, well any of us are pussys then bring it on because making me happy thinking of your head under my right foot.

If items do show up then will apologise more than enough... so think were all hoping they do show, including you steve.

Had this as well with ktm525racing i got some clocks with fitted knock link from him that i was told was all good and ready to go.It did not work had to do a total rewire(including cut tracks on the board) to get the knock link to work.Fitted the clocks and they did not work as well no speedo/clock.I had already had to fit my glass front as the one from ktm had cracked glass with black overspray. It's all fitted in my clocks now and working fine.Glad i worked in electronics for years so could fix it if not it would of been fit for the bin.I did pm him with the above but never had an answer :(

This is not the first time i have been had on here.
