ISP Affecting Torrent Speeds?

I was just wondering if your ISP could have something in place to slow down torrents? I don't use them that often and it might just be a coincidence, but the few that I have tried to download since changing over to BT have been annoyingly slow.

BT throttle download speeds at peak time. Run the torrents over night and they'll fly down!

Cool. Right now we're talking under 40kb/s. Would they throttle it to that extent?

Yes. Bar stewards

I'm with Be Broadband - not bandwidth throttling and I get 15mb d/l speed - happy days

BT throttled me to about 10kb/s. It sped up after 11-12 at night but I got fed up too and moved to Be

Well it seems you were all spot on: I saw download speeds during the day of well over 100kb/s. Quite a pain in the arse having them throttled at peak times though...I may have to look into this and find out about other ISPs.
