Stanley knife users... This threads for you

Howdy,

Puchased one of these from B&Q today and i'm well impressed so thought i'd share lol

I've lost count of the amount of Draper etc snap blade stanley knives i have bought in the past,
I thought i'd give this ago today, bought for £4 ish,

https://i550.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC_7395.jpg

Has full metal housing,
Comes with 7 spare blades,
The difference with this one is it has a blade magazine so can hold and additional 4 blades in the handle,

https://i550.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC_7396.jpg

https://i550.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC_7398.jpg

The blade locks off with and adjustable screw on the back which is a blade lock, stabliser and saftey lock when blade is retracted

https://i550.photobucket.com/albums/...e/DSC_7397.jpg

Once you've finished with the last of the blade fitted, (or snapped it off right it the bottom which I have done loads of times),
You simply slide the button/switch thingy to the end of the knife, the old blade pops out, then you slide it back the the bottom and it auto inserts a full new blade from the handle, genius lol

I've never seen these before but would advise anyone who uses stanley knives for the odd job on the car to defo invest in one of these ;)

Looks a bit flimsy compared to a normal stanley. Would depend what you were using it for I suppose.

I thought this was NSR!

It is awful to give people a good tip or two though isn't it!

Les:rolleyes:

Does anyone else ALWAYS replace the blade in their stanley knife every time they use it?

Even if it's just for some light/easy jobs i always have to change it.

The thought of not having a new virgin razor sharp blade ready and waiting the next time i use it would upset me.

Thanks, how are you supposed to know that though?

You're not necessarily. Sometimes a mod comment is left to say it's been moved; more often not depending on whether it's deemed important or necessary.

A temporary redirect will exist (or have existed) in General.

More often than not the point goes on a Stanley blade. If you can be arsed spending half an hour honing a point back on a 25p Stanley blade, good luck to you. :D

I end up forgetting about it and just struggle away not really sure why I'm having trouble. 2 weeks later I realise the blade won't cut butter.
