Totally p***** off!

Over the last few weeks I have been getting the bits together to fit a Newage IC to the Classic.

Today it all came together ............................................or so I thought:brickwall

I stripped out the old IC...............easy.

Stripped out the piping that connects to the induction pipe and and it came off a little too easy........................................

F**K
The connector that the pipe from the DV goes onto has been kinked in on itself as it's only plastic  and when I try and connect the new pipe and tighten the spring clip or jubilee clip it slides off

:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

So, has anyone fitted posh induction piping that goes to the turbo?

The bit between the elbow and the turbo itself? Not the airbox, not the elbow but the next bit.

HELP!

If I fell in a bucket of tit's at the moment I'd come out sucking my thumb!

Cannon Fodder 22 May 2009 09:33 PM

Ian I don't know if he can help but you could try PM'ing adge and see if he can help, he runs adgespeed and I have bought a few bits and pieces from him. ;)

If he cannot help then he will try and get it for you. :)

Google adgespeed and you should be able to find his website and from that his mobile number. :thumb:

ryan33hks 22 May 2009 09:53 PM

Gutting mate. Let me know if you need anything.

KJD Mk1 22 May 2009 09:55 PM

Take it easy Ian, if its the pipe i think your on about a Samco version is £200 eeek:eek:
Is it an insert you need, something to tighten the clip against:wonder:

The Trooper 1815 22 May 2009 10:07 PM

Kev,

I am thinking of putting in a metal sleeve to solve the problem but it's a pig to get at and I may as well get a replacement in and fitted.

It's OK at the moment but I had sold the IC and DV to someone and I have had to let them down.

I think you mean this one

Cannon Fodder 22 May 2009 10:14 PM

Ian don't know if this is the hose you are after but there is a Perrin version on eBay as below:

BRAND NEW PERRIN 3INCH TURBOHOSE FOR SUBARU IMPREZA STI on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-Jun-09 17:08:06 BST)

Don't know if this helps. :wonder:

The Trooper 1815 22 May 2009 10:18 PM

It an early ver 1 to 3!

£99 is a bit of a wish at the moment.

Cannon Fodder 22 May 2009 10:20 PM

Sorry just trying to help, is this the type of hose you need? :wonder:

The Trooper 1815 22 May 2009 10:23 PM

V5-6 or the standard piping for now.

SAMCO Hose Kit-SUBARU IMPREZA WRX/Sti VERSIONS 5&6 INDUCTION(1) Samco Part-TB121

Thats the one Ian, its a shocking price!!
The OE pipes go brittle and can split after a while and even the oe pipes new cost a fortune. I think a metal sleeve is worth a shot other than that try awesome imports for a good secondhand replacement.

mervil 22 May 2009 11:40 PM

They are rediculously priced, but the Samco ones do look cool!! Hope it gets sorted soon Ian!! :)

turboDean 23 May 2009 12:38 AM

There are cheaper versions out there than Samco, autobahn etc

SUBARU WRX STI 1999-2000 TURBO AIR INTAKE PIPE SILICONE on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-May-09 18:16:59 BST)

The standard subaru ones are £100+ i believe though so may be worth paying the extra for the Samco.

mp24 23 May 2009 04:16 AM

ian, the way things are going for you, blue rigster (john) will have his car fixed before your i/c is fitted.

The Trooper 1815 23 May 2009 11:10 AM

%*"!*%^$&&& OFF!

mr_D 26 May 2009 03:40 PM

sorry to hear that mate. i split mine when i did my turbo. right by where it joins the turbo. not a happy bunny as i have seen the prices. but i may settle for a cheaper one as things are a lil tight at the moment.

The Trooper 1815 26 May 2009 05:10 PM

Tight as a gnats cuff!

Steve001 26 May 2009 06:19 PM

The Trooper 1815 26 May 2009 07:27 PM

evil.soup 26 May 2009 11:14 PM

Sorry to hear you are having trouble mate, its the little things that can really take the shine off a cracking car and drive you nuts. Been there a few times with various cars over the years. Hope its sorted soon mate;)

The Trooper 1815 26 May 2009 11:45 PM

No one seems to have one. Awesome Imports don't. Looks like I'll have to widen the search.

I know loads of people have upgraded their induction systems but no-one seems to have the pipes left over.

The Trooper 1815 27 May 2009 10:19 AM

You know who you are :notworthy. I love SWS :thumb:.

Problem solved!
