If you lost your mobile phone today how bad would it be?

I ask this as i lost mine yesterday but when i remembered that i had spring cleaned it a few days before i stopped panicking :o

The only worry used to be losing your contacts, but these days its easy to back them up. What about the 'other' stuff some of us have on out phones? :p

I dread to think :wonder:

I'd be ok , I'd never put "personal" photos or videos on my mobile for that fact of loosing it.

My iPhone gets backed up once every few days.but saying that I forgot my one morning and was lost without it made me realise I use it way to much.

Lost at least one phone. No big deal as all my contacts get downloaded from my PC, which is the 'master' copy. Photos - camera is only 'ok'ish, like most mobiles, so there are ever only a few on it, and they get taken off every few days.

Nothing *dodgy* on my phone either ..... :smug:

Doubt if I'd worry too much about it. Though the 'spare' phone is my Dad's old one, a Nokia 3310. The firmware is dated 2001 ......

No problem.... just get my other mobile out of the box

ALi-B 07 May 2009 11:02 AM

Bliss :D

subaruturbo_18 07 May 2009 11:06 AM

If I lost mine I would feel naked lol. Send over a thousand texts a month and use up all my minutes, also use Internet all the time on it(like now for example) everything is backed up, but I do honestly feel lost without it.

And I know it sounds silly bit I've had a phone since I was about 12 lol :D

Simon C 07 May 2009 11:29 AM

Wouldn't be a problem to me. I can quite happily live without mine, and all the contacts are backed up on the mac anyway.

Would cause a bit of pain not being able to watch dilbert though :D

Sorry, I'm a Luddite and don't have one:D

A couple of my mates have relatively new, web-enabled phones. We used the satnav on one of them to find a rugby ground the other day. My phone's still just a phone, with a long battery life. Circa 2002.

Ah, I remember those days. I still have a Nokia 8910 for that but also have a Blackberry Pearl for work (did have a Storm but I hated it)

Hysteria1983 07 May 2009 02:09 PM

It would not be the end of the world, and you have reminded me that it really is time to get all my pics of there and onto the compter....... just in case. lol

I have an iPhone, as it's the best phone in the world my only 'bad' would be getting another one. After 10 attempts at the pass code it erases itself, that's peeping eye's out of the way. When I get a new one the seamless back up will restore everything, not just contacts and a few pictures, everything!!

ScoobyDoo555 07 May 2009 02:45 PM

Got to admit, it would be fantastic. I'm not interested in the contents. Addresses are sync'd from my Mac anyway.

mykp 07 May 2009 04:36 PM

not lost mine but damaged it, so off to be repaired.

been using an olde phone for the past few days and its crap compared to my new one, so you could say I am lost.

No calander
No notepad/word processor
No internet
No camera
No stupid ringtones
No Fring
No Twitter

but worse of all, No Emails :shtf:

jjones 07 May 2009 06:55 PM

would be great, some other monkey would have to deal with all the problems :D

A few years ago i deliberatly chopped my sim card when i half decided to start a new life ( hundreds of customers )

Since when iv restarted in the same buisness and im back to the same position lol

I could loose one fairly happily tomorrow !

mart360 07 May 2009 08:56 PM

a few ringtones and a few texts whopee :D

Piccys are backed up to the pc so nothing lost there..

tbh i often leave it at home accidentally, apart from not being contactable by the other half (;)) its no great shakes.

That said, the mobile surfing, and video playback is good, and i do miss that

I have always been really lucky when i lose my phone. It is always where i left it at the till or i ring it up and whoever answers it looks after it for me until i pick it up :thumb:

ScoobyWon't 07 May 2009 10:45 PM

I'd love to see the face of whoever discovers my phone and views Two girls one cup :lol1:

StickyMicky 08 May 2009 08:59 AM

If i lost my phone, a minor inconvenience, if i lost my second backup phone that i always keep in my laptop bag = a bit of a nightmare :D

Snazy 08 May 2009 09:03 AM

Both insured and regularly backed up, so would just get the replacement the next day and hit restore.
I am getting better being without a phone these days, but still get annoyed if I forget to bring one out with me.

Re personal photos, as long as they aint of me or my bits (which I dont make a habit of taking pics of anyway) I dont care lol.

All that said, the last time I did lose a phone I was having cold sweats and panic attacks lol. Its always the same, as it is with cards.. When do you stop looking and start cancelling.... Thats the killer time period for me haha.
