Horizontal scores on tyres..?
 

Often wondered this one, what causes straight scores/scratches across the tread of the tyre, perpendicular to sidewall..?

Obviously it's after a 'spirited' :D drive down the lanes, but what I don't understand is why they're not 'curved', as you'd expect if the tyre was 'sliding' whilst rotating IYSWIM..?

The only way I can think that you would get this is if the tyre slides sideways, without rotation, ie under braking/lockup..!:wonder: At no point has this happened, so how do they get there..?

All of my tyres have the scoring across the tyres from the other week and also from a 2007 Rockingham session.
