Embarassed Porsche Boxter S Driver

Followed a Porsche Boxter S up a slip road onto the motorway this afternoon and I think he ended up with egg on his face. :lol1:

I was taking it steady (conserving fuel ;) ) but the guy in the Boxter obviously thought "I'll show this tw4t in his scooby", he caned it in 2nd and 3rd up the slip road, fortunately he didn't catch me mid-gears so I responded well to him trying to wave me good by (literally, waving his hand in the air :cuckoo:)

Stuck to his ass all the way through the gears into 6th, by which time we were obviously into "sprited" speeds. I then backed off due to placing value on my license, I caught him up a mile or so later at the next junction where he was coming off and he looked a bit sheepish, having realised that I had more power:weight than him and that he'd actually ended up looking like a bit of a d1ck. :hjtwofing

bugeyeandy 15 March 2009 12:34 AM

C'mon you could have at least told us the one about the Veyron :Suspiciou :D

A Boxster is a mere Scooby snack :lol1:

:) It's not the "boxster" I embarassed but the stereotypical driver behind the wheel :lol1:

REDBULL2 15 March 2009 12:39 AM

was it yellow by any chance

bugeyeandy 15 March 2009 12:40 AM

Let me guess. Mid 50s, comb over hairdo, lace back driving gloves and Radio 4 on full blast :lol1:

Trap2Terrorist 15 March 2009 12:47 AM

No, more the 80's yuppy look. Late-30's, blonde side parting and a general "tosser-esque" look to him :lol1:

EJ22 LAD 15 March 2009 12:53 AM

ha ha love that feeling:lol1:

hux309 15 March 2009 03:09 AM

You think that's embarrassing imagine how one guy felt when my 309 was slowly edging away from a boxter s, whilst a guy in a golf gti was crying with laughter. :D

Nothing to prove from it but that's what you get for goading me. ;)

madmooro 15 March 2009 04:22 AM

at least pick on a proper Porsche

and ya gained from that what ??

lol

Glowplug 15 March 2009 05:35 AM

I know the feeling fella, had a play with one on the A1M around new years, stuck to him like glue, the face was a picture:lol1:

lol a boxster aint a proper porsche, give me a 15 year old 911 over a boxster any-day.

I was considering buying one a while back, that car has no right to wear a porche badge

You've obviously never driven one. I've never read such a lost of sh1te as much as this thread. Give it up guys, there are other cars than scoobs out there you know

MikeCardiff 15 March 2009 09:51 AM

Sorry, there are only two reasons people buy boxsters :

1) They cant afford a proper porsche

2) They are hairdressers and have too much money, so didnt buy an MX5

f1_fan 15 March 2009 10:23 AM

Boxsters are way better cars than most people think. The whole poor man's Porsche thing is a little silly. Drive one in anger and I think you will see what I mean. It's not all about 0-60mph times you know ;)

Trap2Terrorist 15 March 2009 01:02 PM

My intention wasn't to make out scooby's are the "be-all and end-all" of cars, a Porsche is a Porsche at the end of the day, even if the Boxster is much cheaper than a "proper" Porsche.

The issue is that some Porsche drivers seem to think they are kings of the road when clearly they're not. I'm sure they're good/nice cars to drive.....but so's a Spec C :norty:

Edit:- p.s. if I won the lottery the GT2 would be in my stable of cars. :notworthy

How can it not be a proper porsche? Its made by them isnt it?

Just like saying a Impreza sport is not a proper scooby

hux309 15 March 2009 01:46 PM

It isn't. ;)

The same day I had my car remapped, a 911 tried it on with me, you then realise the huge difference between a fast car and a proper Porsche.

Ive driven a few, as i said i was looking at buying one.

Great handling but nother else impressed me. Not in the same league as the cayman or 911 both of which ive driven.

Btw i dont own a scoob and never have

GC8 15 March 2009 03:10 PM

Not in the same league as a Cayman or a 911? Its half the same car as the 911 and its virtually the same car as a Cayman.....

The Trooper 1815 15 March 2009 03:11 PM

Rich if it was J35 and silver he's been Foggy'd too!

Sorry cant agree there, the cayman drives and feels alot better than the boxster. Maybe the hardtop has somthing to do with it but they were completly diffrent cars.

The cayman is what the boxster should of been in the first place.

And the 911, well its a 911 and you get what you pay for

ze4s 15 March 2009 03:16 PM

Btw it was the 2.7 boxster i drove

bigsinky 15 March 2009 03:27 PM

just wait for veyronkiller to make an appearance anytime soon

wrighty338 15 March 2009 04:01 PM

what does it take to smoke a boxster power wise?

my mates old one was a wrx ra and he seemed confident on smoking them with nearly stock power

scoobyc 15 March 2009 04:42 PM

the boxster s i drove once was quite rapid. 270 poinies and 5.5 to 60 i think? Handled really well. But no scoob....They are no slouch!

scoobyboy1 15 March 2009 05:01 PM

I beat a Aston Martin the other day, beat that!!!!!!:lol1:
