FORGE DUMPAVALVE SPRING RATE
Yes another DV question.
What spring rate / colour are you using or recommend for my car. The car is getting another remap soon, im hoping for around 1.2 / 1.3 bar or more if possible. Cheers Phil. /slippy |

...Based on their example then the lowest GREEN should suffice, but I'd fit a YELLOW one if you intend to go for more than 1.2+ bar (17.4+ psi). |
Have a look on the forge web site, they give you all the spring colours and there ratings as you can buy them direct. i run a blue spring on 1.3 bar.

sorry to hi jack the thread, but what are baileys single piston dump valves rated too? (bar) cheers :thumb:

I've used the Forge VTA on my car and to be honest anything over 1.35bar the blue spring cannot handle it. I ended up replacing the small spring, pistons and large blue srping with a added shim. It still didn't like it.
So I ended up going for a RED spring. I now use the Forge recirc DV. But with a RED and added shim as I am hitting 1.55bar. I think the colours even on the Forge website are guidelines. Steve |
At the moment ive been using the blue spring. Ive been noticing when I boot the engine the dv dumps with no problem and there is a slight turbo chatter. When im easy on the turbo there is no there is no noise from the dv, it sounds like a faint blowing noise from somewhere.

Just off the phone, Forge recommend staying with the blue spring with no shims fitted.
|
Check the smaller spring also. They are weaker than the larger BLUE spring matey.
