I've suggested to my lad that he might want a pet rat later in the year when I get back from Afghanistan. I'd better not let him see this or I'd me more worried about the misses going for my jugular, she's not happy with the idea as it is!

I had a large rat (pet) a few years back measuring 25 inches lol
6lb is heavy though.

Clever picture though, rat thrust towards the camera to make it look even bigger.

They make wicked pets :)
Only around for a couple of years too.

Far better than hamsters, gerbils, etc

Why did they put a red tracksuit top on the rat?

They make great pets. You have to have at least 2 tho as they are a pack animal and will be fair happier this way.
If they are handled daily from a young age they will be a very affectionate pet.

Wierd, un-natural choice for some, but personally I have enjoyed keeping mine :)
Funny little characters :)
Cheap to "run" too lol

My boy has two rats atm and they are very good pets, they get handled almost every day and have become very tame, in fact you only need to walk past their tank and they scurry to the top hoping to get taken out lol :)

Over the years we've had 12 pet rats :D
