I just bought a Forge Vent to Atmosphere Dump Valve, and guess wot?? it dont make a sound. I'm gutted!!!!

Anyone else have the same problem or an advice on how to correct it? My car is a MY95 WRX if that helps

Cheers

Have you seen the other post?

mega_stream 23 February 2002 02:06 PM

I didn't think mine was any good at first, I couldn't even hear it with the windows down. After a day or so it seemed to get louder though :D

WRXKM 23 February 2002 06:21 PM

Tell me about it I have had one on for a month and it is ****ing ****e!!

It is the worst money I have ever spent!

An induction kit does make it slightly louder but still ****e!!

have you got the right spring?
there are two different types, i think it is red or blue can't remember which one u need.
if u speak to forge motorsport they will advise and send u the spring free of charge!

sorry, find posts like this amusing. :D

WRXKM 24 February 2002 09:04 PM

Anyone got the number for Forge Motorsport as I think I must need new spring

JohnD 26 February 2002 04:57 PM

Have to agree with John, you`ll be fitting a spark plug in the exhaust next?

TBMeech 26 February 2002 05:58 PM

I got a Forge Re-Circ and it makes plenty of wooshy noises etc especially with my Induction kit on too :D

juninho 26 February 2002 08:50 PM

Sorted!!!! I was supplied with the wrong Dump Valve!!

As for the two Johns, It's all about personal choice guys, If I like the noise the Valve stays if i dont it goes simple as that!
As for the spark plug in the exhaust, what a F**kin excellent idea thats my job for the weekend :P

LOL her her on freedom of thought and speech ;)

Next people will be telling us we are not allowed to like Sweets.

What sort of noise is it, i would like the chirp chip form the rally car, or is it a phssseeewwwwww noise LOL

WRXKM 26 February 2002 09:41 PM

Have been in touch with Forge who are going to send new spring out so touch wood this should work!!!!
will be back on to let ya all know

Oh and I have fitted a triple platinum plug in my exhaust

nigelward 26 February 2002 09:53 PM

I thought about getting a budgie for the engine but was worried it might escape through the bonnet scoop :)

Whats the spark plug in the exhaust for? flames?

johnfelstead 26 February 2002 10:00 PM

hahaha

Dont get me started on Dump Valves. :D

They go Farrrrrttttttttttt, not chirp chirp. to get the chirp chirp you need to be running higher boost and it helps not to have a dump valve for that. :D

Ask mike rainbird about the exhaust spark plug. (it's an 80's flick thing. :D)

JohnF - We`re outnumbered here!
No offence meant guys. I may be old enough to be yer dad but I`m every bit as keen as any of you, its just that there are quite a few RS`ers around here with vent to atmosphere DV`s going whoosh everywhere and I`m not a true believer in noise simply for the sake of noise with no actual benefits.
As has been said - freedom of speech and opinion!

What is the best spark plug for the job & anybody know the gap for best results?

juninho 27 February 2002 04:58 PM

If i use a four core spark plug will i get bigger flames ??????
If so that would be CHAMPION!!!! LOL

TonyBurns 27 February 2002 05:49 PM

You know that i always thought that re-circ DV's were better for your scoob than atmospheric ones?? (thus the reason you have a re-circ as standard!)
Oh well... nice noise but prefer the sound of the engine to some wooooooooosh, makes you think that there is something wrong with your car ;)

Tony:D

Jay m A 27 February 2002 05:56 PM

I've got a spark plug in my downpipe LOL :D

No I don't use it for flames, its just that my Lamda sensors in the manifold and that hole had to be plugged somehow....:) and I didn't put it in there :D

BTW to hear all the noises, including the OE recirc just get an induction kit or remove the resonator. I did the latter as I feel its a restriction - honest! :)

Remember kids, function over form - not the other way round :D
