Anyone know of a Win app to normalise MP3s ?? I dont want to burn them at the same time or convert to .wav, i jsut want to normalise a load of them.

I used to do this with an old version of Audiocatalyst but i dont have it any more.

MP3 Workshop is a good one. Hasn't been developed for a while but still does the job very nicely thank you :)

Lots of other handy features too and no bloatware in sight :)

Cheers Dunk. I tried Audiocatalyst last night but you have to convert to .wav, then normalise, then convert back to .mp3 which is a ballache !!

Been using this for quite some time, still haven't found anything as feature packed, but simple to use:

Where else can you get all this for free !:

Queue structure with processing options for each job allowing power and flexibilty.
Normalize/Change Volume of your MP3 and WAV files.
Change the bitrates of your MP3 files.
Retagger to change the ID3 Tag of a batch of MP3 files.
CD-DB Enabled so you can download CD information from an internet database and save it on your computer to save you typing it.
Proxy Support for CD-DB functions.
Can extract portions of CDs e.g 3 tracks extracted into one file.
Option to shutdown or close program when finished working.
VBR (Variable Bitrate) supported.
LAME encoder included.
Silence Stripping options.
Can Fade/In Out
MP3 File Splitter
Can pause processing half way through and resume again perfectly.
Can operate in background as taskbar icon to let you use your PC.
Can extract from a CD straight to an MP3 with normalization!
Intelligent Normalization for all kinds of jobs.
Unique Visualisation gives a graphic display of the audio being processed.
Shell extensions allow you to encode/decode/resample/retag/change volume directly from Windows Explorer.
Ability to save and load queues.
Jitter Correction for CD-drives which have trouble extracting audio.
Fast CD Extractor and good quality without Jitter Correction.
More resillient to read errors than other rippers.

It's completely free - honestly, no hidden costs or tricks.

Only problem I did encounter was when changing the bitrate of a file, can sometimes corrupt it, so be careful not to overwrite the original file :)
