scooby1doo1 21 January 2009 06:10 PM

Wow some realistic answers for a change :D

There was a thread a week or two ago where people were saying 400bhp+ blah blah blah.

Yes there are cars running 400+ but they are definatley the exception to the rule.

I wouldn't want to push a standard engine with cast pistons beyond 300-330 bhp.

Mine is around 330 brake @ 1.2 bar. Been like that for 4 years now. I would like more but it's quick enough and helps to keep my 3rd gearbox in one piece.

Try saving weight rather than adding power.

they say mid 300's is the limit at which you sacrafice pwer for reliability. at 330 your gonna be on the right side of the curve, however your prob getting close to the limit of the gearbox.

85rob 22 January 2009 01:22 PM

as said the gearbox is getting rather close to suicide 300+ and i certianly dont plan on putting more than 300hp on my standerd engine and gearbox

mrbiz 23 January 2009 09:59 PM

thanks for the replys folks. Dont know the exact power mine is putting out must be around the the 280 hp mark, its prity quick, so might just leave it at that, unless anybody got any other small mods i could try that wont blow the engine?

ditch those silly vent scoops, the car looks very good and they spoil it big time.
