boring bits

so as we all know theres a million and one different places to buy go faster bits for your impreza

but wheres good for boring bits like wheel bearings etc

I think my offside rear ones gone, do I need to do both rear ones if im doing one?

Tomski_908 12 January 2009 11:37 PM

Ebays good for most little bits!

And no you don't need to do anyother bearings (but dso get them checked)

Chris.B 13 January 2009 07:26 AM

You only need to do the other one if it's rough or noisy. Don't forget you'll need a hydraulic press too. If you don't have one, speak to your local garage and see how much they will press it for you. Should only cost you £10 or so.

The rear bearings are £35 on eBay, not tried anywhere else yet but I think my rear O/S is going too so if you find anywhere else, give me a shout!

why do I need a hydraulic press?

Chris.B 13 January 2009 07:23 PM

To press the bearing into the hub...!

hodgy0_2 13 January 2009 08:44 PM

funny, I,ve noticed my car is slightly noisier than I remember at around 40mph and above

And I thought it could be the rear wheel bearings -- is this your symptoms

Chris.B 13 January 2009 08:47 PM

Prob will be mate, it can easily be mistaken for a rear diff noise too.
Jack the car up and spin the wheel, listening for a rough noise (not discs) then give it a.... Pull? :o Tug? :o and check for any play... :thumb:

Tomski_908 14 January 2009 06:25 AM

Top and bottom of the wheel and pull/tug if you can move the wheel then you prob need a new bearing! Make sure you spin the wheel and repeat test! :thumb:

hodgy0_2 14 January 2009 07:27 AM

mmmmm I'm hoping it isnt the rear diff
