Wireless facility not working

I have a Netgear Wireless router that worked around 12 months ago but for unknown reasons now I can't get wireless broadband with it.

My laptop is wireless enabled and yes I have tried switching the wireless facility on and off loads of times but no joy.

I can get a [poor]wireless reception using someone elses wireless signal local to me so my laptop appears to work wirelessly.

I have also input the pass key etc needed to combine the laptop/router.
Currently I have the Yellow Ethernet cable from laptop to router to use broadband.

What could be the problem?

How do I reset the router.

What is a reboot exactly. :lol1: I'm a bit of a Technofobe.

If its a netgear dg 3xxxx34xx V3 whatever, be aware it has 3 levels of

reboot.

The simple press the tit with a pin just performs a quick reset, you do not

loose any data.

The longer hold until the lights flash does sod all, it will flash the lights until

the cows come home, but will not reset.

You need to do the long press, wait until the lights flash and then pull the

power.

On restart, it should have cleared everything.

btw you dont have enough fingers to do all the combinations of press pull

and hold at once

Just unplug the power lead at the back or wall socket wait a few minutes then the router will reboot

You need to go into the settings then and maybe go through the set up wizard again. Failing that it might be Fubard.
