Christmas Hangovers, New Year Next

It's been a bit quiet in here over the last couple of days. Are we all nursing Christmas hangovers:freak3:

What's everyone up to over New Year. Me quiet night in with a few mates, avoids babysitter worries, and then off to a wedding on 2nd Jan. Back to work on the 7th:cry:

It has been quiet in here? Im already back at work but its dead quiet, all I seem to have done for the last couple of weeks is drink & eat!! For xmas lunch went to that new hotel in Bushey/Watford called The Village, great bar/reataurant etc. New years is gona be a tame affair at wifes sisters house with kids & inlaws!!

On the Scooby front: I washed it last week in near freezing temperatures!; still waiting for my Muteki lug nuts; battery's almost completely finished so had to order the Odyssey PC680 today at £90 :( ; & for the first time in my life own a car thats gone up in value due to yen/sterling exchange rates!!! :lol1:

Down to the arches, up to Northwood, round the back to Harrow Weald, into Stanmore and then back home:thumb:

Training for the Watford 1/2 marathon in 4 weeks time:D

Thats reminds me on Sunday I took the little one to Willows Farm in London Colney, have you taken your kids there, theyl love it & its only about a 10 min drive from us.

Never heard of it mate, is there a web site.

Only a half marathon this time, I've decided too late to do a full one, they're all booked up.

Willows Farm Village

The best place to take the things in the surrounding area IMO, there is just so much to see & do for the kids. Though try & go when its not raining as a lot of the activities are outdoor.

That's "convenient" Jon! :nono: Should have done the Ricky Road Run back in october- a much more civilised time of year and only 9 miles!!! :)

IIRC it was the same weekend I ran the Peterborough 1/2 marathon:D

Budgie 30 December 2008 05:53 PM

with all this talk of exercise
i think i will give jackie a break
and get the next beer from the fridge myself:wonder:
hold on though:idea:
maybe Tom could do with a workout:thumb:

budgie:D

Mikee 30 December 2008 05:53 PM

:D Smartypants. :thumb: How'd you get on - what time did you do it in?

Mikee 30 December 2008 05:56 PM

Beer fridge next to the sofa is the way forward Pete! Poor Tom!

For me it's about 15 seconds, 3 to open the bottle of stella and 15 back to the sofa, so 33 seconds:lol:

JonMc 30 December 2008 06:19 PM

Oh, and my last half marathon was just under 1 hr 36 mins, but Peterborough is quite flat. I have a Garmin GPS watch, so my 13.1miles around the Bushey, Watford & Harrow hills was a fraction over 1 hr 39 mins last Sunday.

Mikee 30 December 2008 06:22 PM

That's pretty impressive Jon- What time are you aiming for at the Watford 1/2?

JonMc 30 December 2008 06:23 PM

To break through 1 hr 35 will be a new PB, but as close to 1 hr 30 as possible.

Mikee 30 December 2008 06:29 PM

Jesus!!! Good luck with that! I did the Ricky in 1h 9mins this year, have done it quicker in the past, god only knows how you knock out 13 miles, you're a brave man! :)

M444GY 30 December 2008 07:10 PM

lots of food and beer for me . went to the gym today though , which was a step towards being fit again .

cars filthy getting washed tomorrow and i may even hoover it lol :D

JonMc 30 December 2008 07:28 PM

I took the front wheels off this afternoon and washed them - white wheels look great but they are a right PITA to keep clean. Lots of scrubbing and three more coats of poorboys. Gunks one of the wishbones and some stuff inside the wheel arch while I was there but gave up after one arch. I'll do it again when I strip the suspension down to do the bushes when it gets warmer.

Do the rear wheels and the rest of the car tomorrow once the drive de-frosts.

Budgie 30 December 2008 08:33 PM

same for me here
cleaning car all day
trying to get it ready for the autosport show at nec
wheels come off tomorrow
my hands still smell of polish

budgie

btw, cant get my time below 3 minutes
2 minutes spent telling jackie its worth her while getting the beer
on the red wine at the moment, bottle next to the sofa;)
