N.I. insurance??

i have seen a nice 93 wrx for £2200. new engine, clutch and gear box. with a carbon fibre bonnet.

i went to moneysupermarket.com to price insurance and the cheapest quote was £4196.... every other website was up around £6200  i'm 19... with no no claims bonus and live in northern ireland... but this is just ridiculous... i tried limiting the miles to 4000 and tried classic insurance but still well over £5000. :cuckoo:

anyone know a cheap insurer that might cover me??

I think that no no claims at 19 and Northern Ireland will put off a lot of companies, I think you may have to either pay a high premium or wait until you are a little older with some no claims under your belt. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

Try Greenlight, but as said above be prepaired to pay a small fortune.

Yourself as a named driver is probably the main factor in the price.Have you tried Tesco,Admiral,Elephant,Greenlight, etc??

Because most insurance companies aren't stupid, and they know what you're trying to do ;)

a friend was telling me if i insure a car in my name fully comp, something cheap, then i get someone to insure the scoob, i can drive it, aslong as i have their permission, then if i crash, i just say i was borrowing it, and it wont do the persons no claims bonus any harm because it will be through my insurance.... ? is that possible... or legal? :lol1:

Good luck getting DOC (driving other cars) at 19
If you can't afford to insure it legally why bother getting one?

Agreed, just get something smaller and cheaper until your age doesn't mean big bucks for the ins company.
