If you are partial to a drop of malt......

From tomorrow Tescos are offering Glen Morangie at £16 per bottle (boxed). Usually £38

For the uninitiated Morangie is a very classy single malt :thumb:

Just started drinking Redbreast Irish single malt, very nice, also partial to Glenfarclas, Isle of Jura, or if I'm in a pub, Jamesons, Glennfiddich.

Kindly note, Miss Very Senior Moderator, that we are talking about proper whisky here. Not rough old JD :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

Hey, I'm not just a JD monster, I also like a nice single malt you know :thumb: I have completed several days of extensive testing of the products on offer at numerous Scottish distilleries and have found them to be very satisfactory :D

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 07:03 PM

I have Laphroig for when I fancy a peaty single malt and Highland Park (12 year old) for when I fancy something a little smoother.

I LOVE both of them!!

Can't beat a drop of Dahlwhinnie though :thumb:

j4ckos mate 25 November 2008 07:52 PM

Yes you are, only proper alkies would drink west coast whisky;)

I like Glenmorangie - but the standard (10 or 12?) only costs about £20 normally - so which is the one reduced from £38? £16 is a good price regardless.

BTW, Mortlach is probably my favourite, although tricky to find these days. Highland Park will do nicely, Glenfarclas as mentioned above is an absolute bargain in most guises - sorry 'expressions', and most Speysides are OK with me.

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 08:56 PM

You must all read Ian Banks' "Search for the perfect dram" - petrolhead and single malt drinking heaven all in one book!

Simon C 25 November 2008 08:58 PM

I'm rather partial tot he 1 on the left, firey as hell but nice :D

I like the tot in the background:)

fatscoobfella1 25 November 2008 09:24 PM

Auchentoshen is lovely...

Talisker and Laphroaig always tastes a little tainted to me.

Flaps 25 November 2008 09:30 PM

My mate rates Talisker, i'm not overly keen. I'm a Johnnie Walker guy. Big fan of the Gold Label, prefer it over the Blue to be honest, the Green's nice too though.

Thats the beauty of the Malts, every area tastes just alittle bit different.

andys 25 November 2008 10:06 PM

Hmm can beat the cask strength ones. My fav is a 79 Dufftown although hard to fine these days

Lee247 25 November 2008 10:10 PM
