Credit crunch on, the country is a shambles but.....

.......I can't stop looking at RS4s :|

richs2891 25 November 2008 01:30 PM

Lol I been looking but only looking at them as well. They are getting reasonable prices now, I'm trying the use the excuse of an oldish dash to put me off one !

Been checking FQ360s a fair bit - still nothing exceptional.

MattW 25 November 2008 01:55 PM

I got a an 07/56 plate Cabrio in Black 2 weeks ago with 13k miles full exhaust re-map and every toy for £34k.

It stood the original owner £73-£76k ouch.....

How about an 05 Plate Bentley Conti GT with 35k miles for £31k now that is a bargain.

My advice in buying a new or used car is to offer 50% of the asking price as a starter then SLOWLY work up if need be, its a buyers market.

Andy M3 25 November 2008 02:25 PM

Check out other 12 month old bargains!!

£7275
Auto Trader UK - JEEP WRANGLER 4.0 Jamboree 2dr Soft Top Spec Edn

<£11k
Auto Trader UK - KIA SORENTO 3.5 V6 XT 5dr Auto

<£12k 58 reg
Auto Trader UK - DODGE Nitro 3.7 SXT

<£13k 2008!!!!

You're getting new style M5s at that money, that would be a serious decision making process between those. For me anyway.

Really tempted by an RS4 Avant myself but they just get nicked too much round here so went for something else in the end (997) but would still have one if it were not for that.

Round here too. Just on the local news this morning. Guy got carjacked while taking a potential buyer out on a test drive. His mate in the back pulled a knife, demanded the keys to his RS4. Guy got out, thieves drove off.

Hopefully into a tree somewhere. Feckers burning to death in it.

Oops -yes pricewise! I tested one a while back and was completely gobsmacked. Still want one at some stage.

Billy -what 997 did you get? Whatever people say about other cars being "as good if not better" nothing beats a proper 911.

I saw a distant (annoyingly!) mates black RS4 the other day - everything is black apart from the wing mirrors and the last thing I knew was that he was getting MTM to supercharge it to well over 500bhp. He split up with the girl we know well just before I got the chance to drive it (he offered me a go several times) - ARRGHHHH!!!!

I had an FQ330 a couple of years ago. Not recommended for commuting ;)

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 03:20 PM

I work from home!

MattW 25 November 2008 03:29 PM

I used it to commute to Coventry for a gig I had there. Wife's Golf diesel did 3.5 trips per tank, the Evo was filled 4 times a week :D

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 03:37 PM

Matt -that is an issue but we don't do many miles and the Astra Soot chucker is our mile muncher. Some great Evo/Scooby roads down this way too!
How did you find the slightly daft service intervals?

Still prefer the IX over the X.

MattW 25 November 2008 03:52 PM

This was an 8. I didn't do that many miles in it TBH, I bought the wife the Golf for my commute ;) She used the Evo to trundle into town, although she never liked the attention it got.

Was the only car that got broken in to whilst living here. Eventually sold it with 9k on the clock and bought a 330D. That lasted 9 months of boredom before I bought another Impreza, then onto current car.

Pardon but ignorance but what car is that?

MattW 25 November 2008 04:11 PM

Profile ;)

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 04:12 PM

Oh yes - I remember you getting that!
A mate has a silver one and loves it.
How are you getting on with yours?

MattW 25 November 2008 04:15 PM

Love it, had it nearly 2 years, the last car that went over 1 year was a company car I had back in 98 (which I had to keep for 2 years).

Best car I've ever had, will definitely stick with the Audi brand too, hence the thought about an RS4. I like to run new/nearly new cars so it's either buy one now or wait to the new platform RS4 (if it happens).

Matteeboy 25 November 2008 04:21 PM

Nice one! I do miss having a quick car.
Oh well! Our two dull mobiles do their respective jobs well enough.

MattW 25 November 2008 04:24 PM

Mine goes from my garage to train station and back 5 days a week. Occaionally via the petrol station. I claim 45 a week from my business, roughly 200 a month.

As you may gather, it's quite low mileage :D Maybe something dull would be better!
