Simtek and Antilag
How long can you guys run your antilag for??
After about 20 seconds or so i have to turn if off otherwise the car runs like a bag of $hite..Is this right? |
I did the whole Dartford tunnel on the tunnel run and had a little mis-fire but cleared the first time i booted it after
Depends if it is proper antilag or just bang bang! ;)
If it was antilag, running it for 20 seconds wouldnt see your turbo last long! :D |
Only used to run mine for 20-30sec bursts on my Evos, wasn,t fully blown WRC style anti-slag though, just more gimmick really, pops & bangs, that was via Autronic ecu..
I asked my mapper (simtek) if it could you it on track and he said a dozen or so laps shoudl be fine.
If only I could claim I run it for 20 seconds:o :D
why do you people have anti-lag?
Why not as Simons mapping it and only takes an extra 5 mins to add :wonder:
LOL @ Peanuts.
If it is proper anti-lag (which I doubt many, if any, run for road use), then unless you need that response when coming back on throttle and you don't mind your turbo being a serviceable item..... little point really. As for the pseudo anti-lag "wannabee" fart maker..... even less point than above! :D In the majority, it's a marketing tool, just as the old flamer kits used to be.... that was until everyone thought the flamer kit was a bit.... well, chav. :D I run launch control with boost (1bar at launch), which obviously uses the proper antilag strategies. I winced every time I used it for launching on the strip this year..... I'm sure that may of helped my previous turbo to expire. :D |
As far as i remember he said how long people run it for ....... not if its real or why have it !!!!!
