400 Bhp Classic running gear

I'm thinking about a track car for next year...

If you put a built 2.0 in a classic with the 6 speed newage gearbox, how would the driveshafts etc cope with that kind of power? Would the 6 speed box even last?

It would be driven with mechanical sympathy, even on track.

The 6 speeds are strong enough for a good 450-500lbs torque, maybe even a little more than that :) so no issues there ;)

Mine hasn't managed 400 bhp (YET !), but the only thing letting the side down is the standard 41,000 mile old clutch.... at about 50% more torque than standard. No surprise there then.
