Bloody hell!!! Almost choked on my lunch today. Rang Graham Goode as I'm after a strut brace for the scoob.....STI Alloy brace £299, STI carbon brace £499!!!!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
£499.00, FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE QUID!!! For a strut brace!!!!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif I thought £299 was bad enough but when he said £499...... So, anyone bought a brace for reasonable cash???? David |
I bought the gorgeous carbon fibre STI strut brace (genuine part!) for £120. Do you think I paid too much? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
It was second hand and is absolutely perfect. Despite what anyone says about the carbon brace, it does make a difference! I went out for a test drive and noticed it straight away - really! I love my cf sb best £120 I've ever spent http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Scotty. |
GGR Quoted me £143 +vat for a knock sensor!Managed to get one for £80 + vat for the same part from gibsons of brock!
I think they charge what they like!(well try!) |
forget GGR! I got my carbon strut brace from Midland Impreza, £130 inc vat and nice bunch of lads too...
Try calling them on : (024)76 373555 ta, Matt |
Mattski,
Was that new? If so how the hell can GGR charge so much? Maybe it's because people will pay http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif Scotty. PS: I'm happy with mine 2nd hand as it is exactly as new http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif |
Cheers chaps,
I will definately try those that you've mentioned-no way am I paying £500 for a strut brace..... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Heres hoping they have another one http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif David |
2nd hand (well hardly badly used unless crashed http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif )
Yen value works out as something near £350 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif That's before shipping & VAT! |
Scotty,
That was 2nd user but it is in excellent condition... rather pay £130 (which in some peeps opinions is way too much for a strut brace!) than the extortionate prices that GGR charge. ta, Matt |
Mattski,
I'd never opened my bonnet so much in one day as the day I fitted my Carbon fibre strut brace http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif Puff, It was actually removed from a friend of a friends car who was going to rally it and replaced it for a 3 piece brace. His explanation was if he crashed it was cheaper to replace 1 of 3 than 1 of 1. Who was I to argue http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Scotty. |
