only 0.6 bar boost ???????? help
 
my car has been boosting at 1.1 bar since i got it (1996 sti import) i reversed the car the other day and hit the curb :rolleyes: think it was the exshaust
since then the car has only been boosting at 0.6 and wont go higher checked all boost lines and bov for splits wastegate is fine now realy confused:wonder:
anyone any ideas before it costs me a fortune in a garage for someone to tighten a frikin nut up (you know how some places are)

Sounds like you car has gone into limp mode, the ecu protecting the engine because something is wrong, might be a sensor somewhere, do a ecu diagnose and see if it comes up with an error code

also check the exhaust make sure there is no damage to restrict its breathing as this may cause it to go into limp mode in the first place

i.e cats not shatterd and blocking up the zaust whith the knock you say you have done (thats if it still has a cat lol)....this happened on a vactra i had and blew head gasket

hi everyone done a ecu diagnose (thanks to reggie my99) and came up with code 23 maf sensor cercuit.
now is this the maf its self or the small sencer thats plumbed into the rubber maf elbow???? sory for the discription new at the scoobs
also going to check the cats today

You could try resetting the ecu using the black and green connectors under the dash

happy days thanks for the help everyone reset the ecu as shogo10 suggested and works great back up to full boost
i is all happy again now can start to smile when tickleing throttle again
again thanks to all who responded so quickly
