Coilovers: Please tell us who has what

Maybe all you chaps who have fitted coilovers could list here who has what: I am curious to know how many of each type are in use:

Got cusco stuff on the type R, they were on it when imported... quite harsh to say the least.

CupraDave 19 August 2008 04:28 PM

I have Verus inverted coilovers bought through Whiteline UK

They are a bit of a pig to set up as there are so many ways to adjust the height, camber and so on but they are great on the road once set up, even on the bumpy back roads we have here on the island, unfortunately crashed the car before doing a track day on them but will do one as soon as the car is rebuilt :thumb:

imf1 19 August 2008 04:54 PM

Apex coilovers, good price and spot on:)

Bicco 19 August 2008 05:06 PM

Tein Super Street, can be quite harsh, but I really like the feel tehy give the car. :)

bigarf 19 August 2008 05:10 PM

got tein on mine no problems so far had them on over 2 years now, handles sooo much better.

172sport 19 August 2008 05:59 PM

You dont need to have coilovers IMHO to have good suspension.
STD WRX springs & KYB AGX 2 clicks front and 4 clicks rear for me. I also have 22mm front A/R bar and 25mm rear and prodrive settings.
Fantasically complient and perfect for A/B roads.

No bouncing all over the road for me...................................

Richie c 19 August 2008 06:10 PM

Jap spec tein coilovers hard as hell 6/10

Anger 19 August 2008 06:13 PM

Ive got Subaru S201 coilovers on mine, so are quite rare 8-10

Had Cusco before and that was very harsh on uk roads

Stevesbluewrx 19 August 2008 06:42 PM

AST's here.

7/10 to be honest. I've not really played with the settings though.

Simon STi 19 August 2008 07:34 PM

KW V3 very good quality;)

JB1 19 August 2008 07:52 PM

Tein Super Race. Very adjustable. Seperate compression, rebound, preload, height, Camber and Castor. Massive overkill for the road, but great on the track. My springs are slightly softer than the ones that come as standard to make it drivable on the road, but you have to swerve around any sunken grids etc.

10\10 though as they really are the dogs.

jeansmechanic 19 August 2008 10:00 PM

Eibachs on mine 9/10 excellant on the road and really good build quality. nice and compliant, not damper adjustable though. (dont use mine on track so not bothered:) ). Had some jap spec ones before and they were turd:nono:

Midlife...... 19 August 2008 11:14 PM

Hi Martin

I need to sort out my geometry as I've trashed the outside edges of my Toyo's....... :) something is badly wrong with the geometry / tracking and I'm not sure about the Revolution / tarox 12 pots as they are pissing brake fluid onto the drive!!

I bought the eibach kit brand new from Revolution and It's never left the boxes.... how about we meet sometime at Revolution and they could fit the Eibach coilovers to your car and have a look at mine at the same time :)
