TOP MOUNT OR FRONT MOUNT?

I have got a JDM STI engine transplant in uk wagon and i want to go for a safe 400bhp. The options are APS top mount or blitz front mount, anyone know anything about these, is there much lag on the front mount? I have heard you can map out the lag, is this true??? any answers welcome
cheers

An STi 8 tmic will cope with 400bhp and will be cheaper than an APS tmic.
A decent mapper will get rid of as much lag as possible where a fmic is involved.
I personally would go for a fmic as the tmic's will suffer from heatsoak

Another thread here, similar question.

I'd say for a 400bhp build you'd be wanting a FMIC and I don't think lag is as big an issue as people tend to say.

Deffo go for the FMIC, not as much lag as u think over the top mount and no more heat soak

Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to fit an STI ver 8 TMIC to a v5/6 classic?????

Not as easy as fitting an FMIC, going by how much you need to do to get the STi8 to fit.

ON a classic FMIC in my opinion.

No need to go APS, Hybrid perfectly adequate and MUCH cheaper!

i personally went for an STI top mount to run with VF35,FPR, Walbro, downpipe and decat magnex, mapped with apexi power FC.....it wasnt that bad for fitting, u need to shorten the clutch fluid reservoir and coil pack stalks, if u have the sti brackets its much easier they just need bent a bit, mine fits perfect and doesnt foul the bulk head either

as for performance its great, traffic does give heat soak but i dont floor it unless im on open road anyway and i havent seen any problems, snappy power delivery and great spool but i cant compare it to fmic as ive never run one......its up to you mate this thread been discussed a million times lol horses for courses really, i didnt wanna run an induction kit(can affect maf sensor) or hack the bumper so went oem look with the top mount
