import duty

Does anyone know how I can find out how much the government will rape me for if I import an sti rear spoiler from the states, as they are available for a good price, I am just awaiting the postage details. the link is
https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...roducts_id=735

I just am at an unknown quantity with what I will be liable for when I sign for it

Thanks

it will be a fair bit tbh, get them to label it "gift" or "sample" and hope for the best :(:thumb:

:D Import duty is about 5% and VAT is the usual 17.5 %, on goods PLUS shipping costs. Fedex sometimes "estimate" the duty payable, even if the invoice/waybill is clearly attached . They will phne you up and demand this amount, but won't tell you how they calculated it! Get it back afterwards. It might take a while but they will give in .
USPS (not UPS), however , seem to slip through un-noticed- probably something to do with postie not giving an F whether his ultimate employer get their cut or not. (and this is the cheapest postage option- still takes less than a week)
You still save money , even with the import duty.:eek2: :D

sounded to good to be true, they cannot ship large items over seas as they state they are not geared up for it, so looks like I am still on the lookout for one,
Thanks anyway, at least I have an idea of who to use for shipping and what to expect to pay here. If anyone knows any other links then please let me know

Darren
