Returning faulty goods - are they obliged to change/refund

Bought a Linksys adsl router/hub from PC World last Monday and its been giving trouble all week. Drops the connection, locks up and I think its due to overheating as its very hot.

Anyway, I think its faulty and I want to replace it for another make. Are PC World obliged to change it? I haven't got the patience to argue with some spotty little oik. Will they just change it?

Wish I hadn't bought from there but I was in a hurry.

My dad got a router from PC World last week, but he got the Belkin. He's having the exact same problems with his and was thinking of taking it back to exchange it for a Linksys! Maybe not such a good idea after all...

Are you with NTL/Virgin? There are a lot of threads on the net about routers not working very well with their service for some reason...

You should invest in a proper make. Try a Vigor from DrayTek. Not cheep, but mine has not had a fault in 2 years of operation (it's a 2800vg).

Yes of course they will unless you have obviously damaged it but you will need the receipt and, if you paid by card, take that as they will need the same card for a refund. dl

My own fault. We have a Vigor in our main office but I was in a hurry to get the job done.

No settings were changed and it keeps locking up. The problem I have is that the people there don't know about PCs and its a 4 hour round trip for me.

Going to try for my money back and get a another Vigor. Its just PC World aren't well known for customer service.

I have the sales of goods act to hand.
