Both cars have there strengths and weaknesses, and as an everyday car I think the Scooby has the edge.

The fact that my 325bhp Escort Cossie is evenly matched against a modded 2.2ltr £30,000.00+ Scooby is nothing to be sniffed at!!!!!

BHP figures dont mean sh1t, its how the car drives on the road that counts!!! If a 250bhp 22b cant get past me, you'd expect a 300bhp modded STi to, well believe me, it cant!!!! But in the same breath, I can't p1ss past the formentioned cars either! This only signifies how much the BHP mean (especially with the 22b)......not much!!!!

You must remember Cossie lumps can handle 350+bhp without internal strengthening (they were originally built with 400+bhp and de-tuned for use in the production car) Try that with a u.k. Scooby!!

Normally Aspirated is an engineering marvel, no Turbo Lag, no Turbo problems, and yes, that lovely high pitched squeel, like a Pigeon being raped by an Elephant.
I know, to hang with the big boys, I would probably need to bolt a Turbo on there, but it'll never happen. Ill stay NA as long as poss.
The new Civic Type-R later this year is going to have 220BHP from a NA 2.0 litre engine, and then you want to bring your petrol gouging, high maintainance costing, Turbo Lagged, First On Rubbish Dump motor round my way?

Having driven both the Integra Type R and S2000, they are both great cars, but the problem with such high power from NA VTEC engine is they are virtually undrivable in the real world, due to peak power at 8/9000 rpm, and nothing below 5/6k http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Great on a track, but try keeping an S2000 above 6000rpm on the road!! you will last 5 minutes before settling back into granny-driving-mode. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Well I drive mine everyday, and I enjoy winding an engine. I like the feeling of actually driving the car skillfully to reap the rewards, and you would be surprised how far behind a rep mobile is left once you have learnt the ins and outs of the car.
It really is the most track ready car Ive ever driven, and it has lots of hiden rewards.
But if you like to cruise along without winding the engine, thats fine, but for me, I love having a car that is built to perform when pushed hard.
I hit the red line many times a day, even going to the shops I find a stretch I can open up on, and it makes me smile every time.

I recently test drove two MY00 honda typers but was very disappointed in their condition, basically its very hard to find a good example here. Enjoy your integra I know I would.

Some Cossies are good and some are bad I think, it all comes down to the spec and who created the spec, lot of good and lots of bad tuners out there!

Mark, I know what you mean about condition, and in a very similar way to Scoobies, there are huge price differences in what are very similar models.
Mine is mint, it had 12000 miles on when I bought it, and is perfect inside and out. I was lucky, a few examples I test drove were shoddy, even at Honda dealerships, and yet they cost more (?).
I kept looking until I found one I felt was worth the money, some car dealers dont even try, there is a good one at Whitehouse Honda, Bexleyheath, where I got mine, and they tend to have cars in very good condition on the lot, in case you're after the old "it revs to 9000!!" smile again.
Bet you're happy with the Scooby though, I love them, and they are always a contender to pull me away from the Honda camp.
