Hey,
What's the problem. The splitter and spoiler will increase downforce. Imagine the conversation with your insurance company.

Option 1
Insurance "Have you fitted any non standard parts"
You "Yes, a large rear spolier"
Insurance "That'll be an extra million quid please"

(not an )Option 2
Insurance "Are you a flabby git?".......

DavidLewis 08 January 2001 12:18 AM

Andy, LOL
I've got all of those extra's fitted http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Darren Thompson 08 January 2001 12:37 AM

I'm built for comfort not speed that's why I bought an Impreza.

You don't have a dog and do the barking do you.

Pie eater Darren.

BarryK 08 January 2001 12:44 AM

OOOhhh yes!

Steak and Kidley.

(Flame suit on, preparing to be muppetised...)

I've just seen the Fast Car, Scooby dyno session article. Now to me, it seems that the vast majority of the owners pictured there are benefiting from too much "good living"...

Not to mention the picture of a certain person (no names, no pack drill) stuffing his mush with a mars bar!

Do we eat all the pies?!??

Andy Tang 08 January 2001 11:30 AM

I did (eat all the pies)!!! And I'm sure that anyone who's met me would agree!!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

It's probably why torque is such a pre-occupation http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

(Favourite pie is the cow pie from the Moody Cow (nr Ross on Wye) it even has horns on it!)

Put the kettle on Blowdog, this one'll be over in a minute!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

PS - Haven't eaten all the pies but I've drunk all the lager! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Squizz 08 January 2001 11:52 AM

I understand that Pr*drive have now copyrighted "Double-Chin" and "Lardy-Arse" and that they will be charging several thousand pounds each for these mods.

Fitting to be arranged at nearest McDonalds outlet...

Andy Tang 08 January 2001 11:58 AM

You mean the "Double Chin front splitter" and the "Lardy rear end spoiler".

Of course you have to upgrade your suspension, to cope with the increased (interior) load! It's only needed for the drivers side though!

Then, there's the extra long seat belt you need to get round your gut! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

New prodrive interior with the extra wide Recaros for those with a bigger bottom!!

Gear lever extention, to increase the length of the gear stick, so you can see it over the fat bits!!!

The move is now away from lightweight alloy wheels, as they are starting a trend for oval alloys on Subarus. Cast iron alloys are the new thing for 2001!!!

I'm currently saving up for all these mods!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Dave,
That's because he stuffed the Mars bar in all at once and is having to wait for it to melt before he can start chewing, so that he can swallow it....

What I want to know is if the rumours are true about where the Mars bar went before he ate it... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Fast Bloke,

If I got a discount for being overweight (obviously the car will go slower!!) I'd be most happy!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Andy

fast bloke 08 January 2001 02:24 PM

Andy,
You get more downforce with no premium loading.

pass the pies....

Squizz 08 January 2001 02:31 PM

I wonder if that's why the new MY01 "WRX" is bigger all round and HAD to be made 250% stiffer.

That and the extra cup-holders and optional charge-cooler complete with beer cooler compartment?

And those new headlights? Originally the car looked like a standard Scoob, but once they used a Sumo westler for test purposes the car developed a rather wide-eyed startled expression!

Markus 08 January 2001 02:56 PM

yup, I ate all the pies, in fact, I cleared out the local bakery this morning when I went for a snack. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

6ft 4in, 15 stone, damn proud, oh, and I do fit quite nicely into the black beast http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Andy Tang 08 January 2001 03:04 PM

Marcus,

How does that qualify you as fat??? I weight about the same if not more, but I'm 5 inches shorter than you!!!!

Fat Boy Tang http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

barge 08 January 2001 04:37 PM

Markus,

6 feet 4 & 15 stone !!!

I would take less exercise & eat more if I were you, you are letting the Fat Bloke side down !!!

Barge.

andymac 08 January 2001 04:55 PM

Is the "slightly higher than average" weight of the scooby driver down to most of them being involved in computers in some way ?

Cheers
Andy
(well over the 20 and very undertall for his height)

Markus 08 January 2001 04:55 PM

lol

exercise? wots that then? someting to do with using the remote to unlock the car to save using one's wrist http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

OK, I might not be fat, I'm certainly on the teddy bear side, ie; 'cuddly', or so I'm told. Well, most of the time I'm told I'm a fat lazy sod! so I am keeping the side up.

Must confess that I am considering taking up swimming again though! did lose some porkieness when I did it for a few months last year.

Nothing wrong with having a belly, unles you happen to be in a trainer advert.

BELLY'S GONNA GET YOU!

hey! that would make a perfect reg number plate tag! hehe http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Markus 08 January 2001 04:57 PM

anyone would think that all us IT guys do is sit on our (fat) bums all day, eating cream cakes, playing unreal tournement, and posting on here!

It's a hard, hard, hard, job, but some of us have to do it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

IntegraR 08 January 2001 05:13 PM

You people are giants!! Im only 5"7 and about 10/11 stone.
Thats why I dont need all the torque, not much to move around.
You Scooby guys really do eat all the pies (you fat b@stard, you fat b@stard), Im a lean, mean Honda machine.
PS: Im in the laziest IT position possible, IT Manager, I think its just a matter of time, 5"7 and 18 Stone comming up!!

[This message has been edited by IntegraR (edited 08 January 2001).]

Andy Tang 08 January 2001 05:17 PM

IntegraR,

I'd kick you in the nuts for that comment, if I could lift my foot higher than shin level!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Andy

Squizz 08 January 2001 05:19 PM

Thanks to the Labour government and the "bleed-you-dry" oil companies, we can't afford to buy petrol and pay gym fees!

Pass the lard...

Danny Fisher 08 January 2001 05:20 PM

InterraR, I doubt you are the laziest IT person here. There are a few people up for that title.

Dan

mattski 08 January 2001 05:21 PM

I don't think it is a scoob prob, I think it is an IT prob!

Trips abroad, posh hotels, posh nosh, lots of booze, comfy seats...they all, erm, have an effect http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I don't know what you mean!! I've been at work since 8.30am and I'm logging off now!!

Scoobynet has been signed in all that time, and I think I'm beat a personal record today for my number of posts! Obviously I needed to go to the pub for lunch for an hour!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

So I don't know where you get the idea that IT people are lazy. My fingers hurt from too much typing and my brain hurts looking for funny comments!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif - Yeah I know most of them aren't funny!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Andy

PS - Do I win???
