Thanks.

I just bought A for my MY98 so i would think it's B

joz8968 22 March 2008 04:42 PM

Aaargh. I thought it was B too, but the seller of these two reconned starters seems to think it is A. Indeed, he said that A is from a version 4, and B a version 5, which is the opposite to what you've just said?!?!. But if A fits your car then how can anyone argue with that!

Can anyone else help?...

joz8968 22 March 2008 04:46 PM

Oh hold on, I'm talking rot... MY98 IS version 4, so that actually fits in with what the seller said! However, I still need someone to confirm(!) - once again can anyone else help?...

Yeah, when i went down to get the starter it was a good job i took the old one with me because they gave me B first, then he checked again and gave me A

You sure your Scoob's a MY98? Just checked your 'View My Scooby' and you state it's a 2000 year which is obviously MY00 version 6 (G)?!?!?

I'm going mad... my mind's playing tricks on me... I'm 100% certain when I looked it said 2000 under 'Year'!!!! :brickwall:wonder::eek2::cuckoo::eek::rolleyes: Think I best go for a bit of a lie down...

joz8968 22 March 2008 05:27 PM

...No hold on!... How do you explain this then?! (Luckily I had the window still open and screen-captured its content)...

Did you just change the Year from 2000 to 1998 or summat? If not, then I'm totally weirded out:eek2:

Scooby23 22 March 2008 07:09 PM

Lol, its ok mate, you are perfectly sane, lol. i forgot to change it to 1998 from 2000 when i bought my latest scooby, so you just reminded me to do it. LOL

Scooby23 22 March 2008 07:10 PM

Why dont you just take yours off and have a look, its only held on by 2 bolts. piece of piss

joz8968 22 March 2008 08:39 PM

Ha! Thanks for stopping me from going a little bit mental! (well, more so than my default anyway ;-0)

Yes mate, I'm in utter slob mode today - can't be arsed to go outside :lol1: . I'm sure just a good look would be enough to identify it - I'll do it when I get to work on Tues. :thumb:

Is it located towards the rear of the engine (obviously because of the flywheel :Whatever_)... and on the driver's side?

EDIT: Logically, it's looking like starter 'B' was fitted to the 2nd facelift Classics i.e. 1999/2000MY (?)

Scooby23 22 March 2008 10:49 PM

Yeah, located under the intercooler, if its still on top
