bpm1588 21 March 2008 02:55 AM

you might be lucky and just get billed for what ever the marked price on box is or if they open it up they could come to their own value.either way parcel force or whoever delivers box will send a mail too you detailing fee's/payment etc.

paulwrxboro 21 March 2008 02:58 AM

cheers, and if im not lucky ?

ScoobyWon't 21 March 2008 04:41 AM

Why do you need 5 mobiles?

ScoTTyB 21 March 2008 06:23 AM

I'm guessing either a serious deformity, or a phobia of being alone.

Stephb1986 21 March 2008 09:59 AM

i had this once from america but it was clothes they just ring you up and ask you to pay the import duty it worked out to be about £60 i think

Steph xx

Usually if the update shows its stopped with customs, some carriers wont release it untl the duties are paid. I had the same with Fedex and I work for them. Could not be cleared til it was paid for.

As for what they charge, it can be comparative to the UK market, especially if the shipper has made a bull5hit value declaration. They will make their own valuations of it.

Like I say, because its been stopped, the chances of getting away with duty on it is as good as gone. Have you supplied a phone number on there? Otherwise they may write to you. Few collect on delivery now.

Diesel 21 March 2008 10:53 AM

You need 5 as when you try to upgrade the firmware you wil end up with 4 paperweights and one all singing all dancing 'this month's software' one ;) D

Avi 21 March 2008 01:02 PM

pimmo2000 21 March 2008 01:11 PM

Had my N95 for over a year now .. so out dated lol !

Whens the next phone due out.. 8GB one not included

Will 21 March 2008 01:15 PM

nokia n96 is due out third quarter of this year if i remember rightly

Avi 21 March 2008 01:23 PM

Had my N95 a year now.. and love it ! Can;t wait for the N96, apparently it has an inbuilt FM transmitter!

My N95 has allready replaced my TomTom, K800i, and Ipaq. The N96 can then replace my ipod in the car too!

Snazy 21 March 2008 02:01 PM

The N96 looks mean :) I would like one of those just to play with for a week.
Time to get rid of my 95 soon though I think. Only use it as the secondary phone now anyway, so time to get something up to date :)

Compare :D

And me! :thumb:

Snazy 21 March 2008 02:30 PM

lol how much are people offering for N95's I might be tempted to sell mine lol.

Ray_li 21 March 2008 05:38 PM

dont need to worry.

when customs open the phones up and find nothing but scrap metal instead of components they'll forward it on to you.

you did buy from China :D

MikeCardiff 21 March 2008 06:22 PM

Worst case I can see is that customs will charge you the duty on the UK value of the phones ( which they will if the seller has put some made up figure on the declaration ) - then you'll get the handling fee etc... added.

You'll then have an even more expensive box of fake phones than you thoughy you were getting.

GC8 21 March 2008 07:32 PM

If they arent genuine theyll be seized and destroyed: otherwise youll have to pay duty and VAT at the prescribed rate, along with handling fee to the courier.

kingofturds 21 March 2008 10:21 PM

Please say you did not get them off ebay, expect a dodgy "nokila":D I know some sucker that bought one for a 120 squid

J4CKO 21 March 2008 10:36 PM

5 N95's means a whole days battery :D
