just bought a new dvd player

Well decided to bite the bullet and buy a new dvd player.

being that blue ray are still way to expensive (in my opinion) i decided to stick with an upscalling one.

after looking around i settled on this one, which as an added bonus comes as a HD disk player as well :D

anyone have one of these?

That was going for £59 with 5 HD DVDs last week on iBOOD: Internet's Best Online Offer Daily

Wish I'd bought one of them :(

I decided to buy an expensive Panasonic recording DVD with a hard drive and it winds me up constantly. Too complicated and I've never once used the hard drive.

joey_turbo 19 March 2008 12:27 PM

I've got an EP30. Happy with it, just not happy I paid 180 for it, before the HD-DVD crash!

Tidgy 19 March 2008 12:31 PM

doh! o well thats life mate, try buying bits for a home computer your building, how quickly they go down in price is scary

rossyboy 19 March 2008 12:55 PM

 that is a serious bargain. Bourne Supremacy and 300 on HD included plus upscaling. Means that thing is only about £35!

dunx 19 March 2008 12:56 PM

Has HD-DVD just been killed off by Toshiba ?
I'm going for a blue-ray drive for my PC at around £85...

DunxC

P.S. Really good price tho'. Forgot about up-scaling DVD as well DOH !

Has HD-DVD just been killed off by Toshiba ?
Yes, but there are plenty of films on HD-DVD which will be going cheap and for £35 you cant complain!

Tidgy 19 March 2008 04:00 PM

i know good init :D

hd dvd's seem to be available from around £5, so not far off dvd price, and most of the current tittles are available so wont be hurting for choice.

tbh dont think its worth paying £200 for blueray, yet anyway.

and i hadn't thought of it as £35 lol,

also, y the hell do they no longer supply the correct cables witht he damn things, i've order an hdmi cable cos i know it doesn't come with, but y not include them, grrrr

joey_turbo 19 March 2008 04:43 PM

does it specificaly say it doesn;t come with a HDMI lead?
Mine did, but it also came with another 5 DVD's, that I had t send off for, but the HDMI lead wad in the box.

Tidgy 20 March 2008 04:14 PM

um, not sure if it does or not, got one anyway so don't have to worry :D lol

Tidgy 20 March 2008 04:17 PM

reading the reviews, it might come witht he fill in the form and send off for extra 5 as well, its sat at home waiting for me to go pen it so shall report back as and when :D

joey_turbo 20 March 2008 04:23 PM

Not sure if it will. That Toshiba 5 HD-DVD thing ended 31st of Jan. Well mine did. So if they are old reviews, that could be why.

Tidgy 20 March 2008 04:37 PM

hope not lol, if so ah well thats life lol

latest mention of 5 extra is 24th jan, so you may be right

Jamz3k 21 March 2008 11:32 AM

i got my 5 free disks yesterday, didn't get the ones i wanted though, but still they were FREE:D:D:D
