WRX_Dazza 09 March 2008 04:23 PM

cant go wrong with a bit of anti-lag.

great down dark country lanes at night and for when people are driving up your ar5e in town ;)

as above, blank of the dumpvalve and get some induction. :)

money well spent IMHO - Mocom Racing Installed and mapped my Simtek :)

ALS = Win. buckets and buckets of win.

Just got mine simtek + antilag from simon Jolly Green Monster (that legend above ^^). Fantastic fun!

swisstonihasher 19 November 2009 10:07 PM

Bob R also does Simtek in Swindon...

Anti lag is great but use it dont abuse it...I've had some fun not moving before and had bit of smoke kick off the turbo wrap, does get hotter with use. Just switch on when in attack mode and want rally car sound from the off, no dip during changes (just feels constant) and then switch off when finished/lift off. Not sure I'd want use it round the nurb ring with it on all the way on every lap but I'm hopefully going to be near 500 bhp or on the mark early next year so engine, oil, EGT temps are always monitored to keep tings safe.:D

RA Dunk 21 November 2009 04:15 PM

Had my Simtek fitted and anti lag set up last january, sounds ok for a while but the novelty soon wears off, save your money and spend it on something that actually does something

rev.chris 21 November 2009 07:04 PM

get the anti lag m8, an the launch control, lots of fun

arnie_omagh 23 March 2010 02:46 PM

do u need the differnet ecu to get anti lag?

Terminator X 23 March 2010 03:25 PM

Just show isn't it? Does nowt in anything other than a rally car ...

TX.

not strictly so.. depends on the year of car.. on newage it is possible to get a nice gain on spool on gearchanges and increase in boost on launch control etc..

why is that Simon? AVCS heads?

Jamesae86 23 March 2010 06:29 PM

can it be fitted using a remap of the standard ecu in a version 6 type r? i'm getting mine remapped soon for a small increase in power and to use 95octane and dont want the cost of aftermarket ecu's :(

throttle by pass valve flows more air

the 99 are fairly good but newage better still

baldfox 23 March 2010 07:45 PM

how hot is the turbo in that video link - PMSL...
The old bill would throw a spanner if they saw me in that in a highstreet scenario !

howes124 23 March 2010 07:55 PM

Run ALS on the Ring on a Public day and your day will likely be cut short! They kicked me off for a Nurspec ffs.

Allowed back on with the Bung fitted, i lived there for a while but its near 2 years since i was there. Dynamix is a frequent Ringer so will know what the marshalls are like now.

They do like to target Brit plated cars for noise tests so switch that on and they will come looking for you LOL.

on over run on my newage sti I see -600mbar with als off. .and -200mbar with it on.. not a massive change but enough and noticable on gearchange, wouldn't want much more with servo on brakes.. as the braking with als on is noticable harder pedal effort needed than with it off..

On just launch control I get 0.5bar of boost and with ALS on at launch 0.8bar..

So noticable performance gains for mild als on a road car..

Indeed.

Although you can have fun on the roads around there (particularly the tunnels) with ALS :norty:

Anti lag makes for very jerky driving but it is good fun and even though some say they tire of the sounds i believe it is motoring prozac and always puts a smile on my face :D

Wouldnt use it on track though as flat shifting keeps 1.5 bar of boost between changes anyway. Useful as part of launch control for a quarter mile though.
