Default Anti lag - Is it worth it?

I'm planning on fitting a simtek (probably) ecu within the next week or so. I'm trying to decide if I should get anti lag as well. I know what it does but what's it like to live with for normal daily driving? I guess when the turbo is not boosting its ok? Popping, banging and flames everywhere look good fun but doesn't it wear a bit thin after a while? I'm hoping to do some track days and go to the Nurburgring this summer and I'm sure I'll feel the benefit there but in normal conditions won't it get a bit irritating as well as put the sh*ts up old people, animals, young children etc?

You can turn it on and off via a toggle switch...

Steve up at Teg did mine, I added the AL as it was only another 150 quid. It is fun to play with but be warned it's very loud - not something you can use in town really. It does give a nice lumpy kickover which I like

Does it make any difference? not sure really, mine is only a very mild AL map - 3 psi off off throttle I think.

Mine - very loud as you can hear

Wouldn't bother with it myself, IIRC to get it to a level where it's benefiting lag, you'll be going through turbos like no-ones business!

If you turn it down, then you get the noise (too loud IMHO) without the benefits.

That and it's give me a coronary!

But each to their own!

think the fried turbo and valves is taking it to extremes i.e. set very aggressively and turned on constantly.

Anti lag is the modern day equivalent of the dump valve.

Would I have it?

Maybe....

i personally think it sounds ace and im looking into it. £150 isnt alot and if you get bored of it just turn it off.
thats mild antilag in the video? hate to see aggressive set up.

saving up at moment for simtek

Hi mate, Simtek - I think I paid £1060 or £1160 fitted and mapped can't remember which

I don't use it that much but it is fun around town, if you keep the revs down you get a nice pops and bangs but not to loud.

The SimTek website isn't up and running yet , too much time devoted to new ecu types and new features....The web name has been secured and is being worked on now....
