Would you change car colour ???
i have recently purchased a red classic which needs a little tidying up.....
do i blow it over with Red again or should i change the colour.... and if so what to.... I have thought of black ..... or WRC Blue .... ???? |
Unless your going to take the engine out and do the engine bay as well then i think its a waste of time as they don`t look right with a different colour engine bay.

i am about to whip the engine out the car hopefully this weekend and so thats why i'm thinking about it.
i saw this thread though and thought mmm Nice :thumb: http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/4577/dsc000352dj.jpg https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...y-style-2.html |
yeah i prob would mine, but only colour i'd change it to is the proper wrc blue, not the standard one i mean the proper wrc blue
|
If I did it, I'd go for a colour that the Impreza never came in. Something classy rather than garish though.
If you're going to paint it black, you may aswell buy a black one! |
id do it somthing difrent like lambo orange http://img480.imageshack.us/img480/8489/dcp01580uy.jpg
|
White, got to be white.
|
white is nice :thumb:
Im gonna stick to the blue... I like to be different  |
Go black and it will not only look the business but it will be faster as well :norty: :thumb:
|
we did a colour change on a silver classic to white. alot of work but well worth it..:)
|
i think the black with a few subtle bits of red remaining will look nice, i'm gonna leave the front grill red i think.
|
But surely you have to do the inside of the doors in the boot and everywhere else paint work is visible. Got to be £3 or £4K worth at least all in?
|
i wsa going to change the front bumper anyhoow.
remove the doors and rear bumper and spray them, remove the boot and spray that along with the bonnet. I have a pair of lightweight wings from my old scooby left over which i can spray black and fit. That just leaves the roof and rear wings to spray. time to chase a couple of my mates who can spray for some cash in hand me feels. |
ye i actually did want silver - but came away with platinum "silver"
Which is more a soft gold really :( |

Don't change the colour, unless you go for something really different/unusual. It will affect the value, however, if you've gone to the trouble of a respray in an unusual colour then you may attract a different market.

My engine bay is quite faded and almost pink ...
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...y/DSC01339.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...y/DSC01338.jpg The bumper needs a new coat... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...y/DSC01340.jpg But the bodywork isnt too bad, i still need to sort out the sills and bumper trim too though... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...y/DSC01341.jpg I'm still thinking black, if i get a mate to do it on the cheap. :wonder: |
Black then or any other ideas ???? i am tempted to go WRC blue but then they are so common. ??????
|
kawasaki green!!!!!
if you want to do something different go for something you haven't seen as for engine out, the trend now seems to be for black engine bays regardless of the colour of the car |

Beige with a brown vinyl roof :thumb:  ;)
Seriously mate, spray it whatever colour you like best :) |
I recently changed the colour of my scooby from black to red (not just any red :norty: ), and dont regret it one bit, but would agree with most when they say go for something a bit different rather than a standard colour!
Engine bay on a red car would def. need to be done, i didn't change mine as i would rather it was black anyway, jut my choice though! Good luck with it though |
My 97 classic is bright red, just had a full respray done in the standard colour, looks soooooooo good! :luxhello:
|
so what black's are there...black with a gold flip, pink/red flip ??
|
I would choose Gunmetal from an R32 skyline.
|
IMHO the best standard colours are the metalic blues: WR blue, Pro-drive blue and DBM..
And the best colour that suits the Impreza the most has got to be the RB5 metalic grey.. |
