Help me decide on alloys!

Right, finally going to start getting the sti to how I want it.
First off is the alloys.
Here's the scoob at the moment:

I am going to have the skirts colour coded, maybe an sti5 rear wing and either just add an sti3/4 front lower spoiler, or go for a P1 conversion.

And here are my favourite choices do far:

Boost - Rare Rims

The first two would be 17's where as the PFF7 copies would have to be 18's. ( 17's don't look as good in my opinion)

Here's old scooby with rota boosts for reference:

Id deffo stay on 17s on a classic personally...

Not a big fan of any of those wheels though. Not a knock, just being honest :thumb:

Any other suggestions though? :thumb:

I've done many thousands of miles on both 17's and 18's on my MY99 and IMO the only difference is that you have to be a little more careful around potholes - handling feels the same to me. On this evidence, i would pick 18's every time.
Not keen on the boosts myself so would probably opt for the PFF7's :thumb:

Chris I would go with P1 alloys as they will contrast nicely with the silver bodywork.

Forgot to add, I don't want P1 alloys. That's what everyone has! :D
But, I spose the same could be said for the PFF7's. :wonder:

The RE037's Rays alloys look nice on the classic. I think I have the correct name for them could be wrong though.

Of the ones above the ones above the PFF7's look best IMO.

Oh yea, budget is £800 inc tyres.

This is a really tough one as it's all down to your personal taste.

I would probably stick with 17's on a classic as you can still get a set of AP's behind most of them.

James.

Can you run 215/35/18's on a classic, or does it have to 225/25/18?

banny sti 28 August 2007 03:48 PM

215/35/18 is the recommended size for classic Imprezas afaik, as this is what friend runs with no issues.

seriously though, i prefer 18s on a classic, id love my wheels (p1 would you believe:norty: ) in 18"

215 or 225/35/18 fits no problem chris.

as long as you get it looking as fresh as the old red one you had mate, there will be no hassle from me:thumb:

Decided on the PFF7 replicas, especially when midland wheels told me the price they could supply them for! :D

Hopefully they are back in stock in the UK now. I waited 16 weeks for them before I eventually went elsewhere and bought, what I think, is a far better set or rims.

They were cheap though, was quoted about £320 for all 4 rims !!

James.
