Slowboy Racing 16 August 2007 08:53 PM

Yes.

Yep and hopefully just replacing the seal will fix it. I have a problem with mine where it has been off a few times and had a new seal/been reseated and it still leaks a little :(.

Scoobyslammed 16 August 2007 09:04 PM

For what they cost while its off I would just replace a oil pump anyway...

Mr Footlong 16 August 2007 09:32 PM

Unsure, mine has always come down fairly straight and shows itself on the sump/plug.

500 16 August 2007 10:02 PM

probably a leak on the rocker cover if it's in that area

tony95 16 August 2007 11:08 PM

sounds like a crank seal problem to me.

billybenton 17 August 2007 08:28 AM

sounds like rocker cover gasket to me as well. when i test drove my classic scoob smell was awfull. shouldent be expensive.

fbladerrv900 17 August 2007 09:13 AM

rocker cover gaskets are £38 each side, OE parts:idea:

When you have the pump off,you need to make sure the rear cover is tight on the oil pump - the screws can work loose resulting in a Drop in oil pressure and can possibly cause damage to the bottom end if left.
