gapping piston rings
 

i am in the process of a rebuild on an sti closed dec engine, i am ready to fit the rings but i need to know what they need to be gapped at, the pistons are oversized by 0.5mm if that matters, cheers phil.:thumb:

The supplier should be able to tell you this. Think it varies between pistons, cast/forged etc. 3thou for every inch dia springs to mind, but prob not relevent lol

ok, ill pm the supplier, i forgot to mention they are forged pistons, thanks, phil.

they said these std ones are already gapped, so no worries.
