Jap or UK?Look on the passenger side suspension turret and look at the VIN plate. There will be a number starting TY752 What is the complete number. With that I may be able to assist you.

uk ile have a look tonight and pm you :)

Sorry but I don't have a UK at present although I do have a UK TY754 being rebuilt but it won't be ready for ten days/2 weeks.
I do have an STi 4 out of the car and ready to go and I also have an STi 3 (same box) in the car so it can be driven before purchase. That is coming out in about ten days.
You might like to try Grade A Subaru for your UK box or keep advertising. There should be a few about. Speak to Paul at Zen.

thanks harvey will do 1 other thing its my mates car that needs the gearbox and i was gonna help him change it how hard is it to replace? as funds are low :(

Swapping the gearbox is not a difficult job if you have a ramp. It becomes much more difficult if you try to do it outside without a ramp.
The typical charge here for a clutch change is £150 and it is not half a days work but that is with power tools and the experience of having done it X times before.
You need to be able to get to the top side of the car and the underside quite frequently. If you are doing it without a ramp, think about how you are going to get it quite high off the ground, safe and stable and then use steps or ladders for under bonnet access.
BTW the rally crews can swap a box in 30 minutes!!!

up up and away:)

harvey 11 July 2007 06:06 PM

As I said on a previous post, almost any UK 5 speed will suit your purpose and the code will start TY752VN or TY754VN but almost any UK box 93-06 5 speed will serve your purpose providing the ratios are checked and I can sort that for you.
