BIG GRIN!!!!!!

Yes, it's fitted! am I happy? umm, YES! would be an understatement.

At first I was a little disapointed as it did not seem to make any difference to noise or power, well maybe a little gruffer sounding than before, but then i was travlleing through a village at the time so was not giving it large, as the mp boys would say ;) plus I was not exactly sure what to expect.

Decided that I must get suzy some more xmas pressies so decided to pop off to lakeside (shhhh, don't tell her! ;)) might have also been an excuse to 'test' the downpipe.

What can I say, wow! much deeper bassier sounding, even at the NSL, very nice, throttle response seems a little better as well.

had to drive through the tunnel with the window down, hmm, ok, but other cars made far too much noise for me to hear properly! But the lakeside car parks, oh wow! big, big grin, lovely noise, might have helped that the level I parked on was empty and the sound echoed around.

Thanks to all those of offered advice on downpipes, in no particular order, Andy, Adam, Iain, and others as well. Plus thanks to Lou_C for selling me her BPM, much appreciated.

I'm happy. Now the blackbeast has nice roar to go with it's name.

what's next to mod then? :D:D:D:D

Markus, you should think about a lambda and knock link before you do anything else.

Gklad you like it for its noise, you havent obviously felt the performance gains yet.

Bear in mind it is mild steel, so it wont be as loud as a full stainless system.

Markus 19 December 2001 10:08 AM

Thanks adam. am considering knock and lamba, though wheels and brakes will probably be next.

no mods until feb next year no as no cash :(

chuckster 19 December 2001 10:47 AM

Mark, have you done an ECU reset? May be worth trying mate.
Chuck

Markus 19 December 2001 11:13 AM

chuck, nope, not done that. simple battery disconnect is it not?

to be honest, it does sound rather cool.

no pops or bangs or flames yet :(

barge 19 December 2001 01:26 PM

Disconnect the battery tonight before going to bed, then reconnect in the morning.

You would do better to stick some super in it from now on as well

Markus 19 December 2001 01:39 PM

barge, thanks. have been running on optimax or SUL for last two weeks, a) beacuse optimax aint that much dearer (circa 4p more than NUL) plus it's cheaper than SUL round here, 74.9 vs 79.9 for SUL (at sainsbury's I must admit!)

will always be running on SUL or optimax now, as the free flow of the DP will maybe cause problems if I'm still on NUL, would get pops and bangs on NUL though, but it would be engine doing the poping and banging rather than the fuel! so not too good!

Marcus

Jase

Markus 19 December 2001 02:38 PM

jase,
would love to come tonight but can't got kiddies carol service to go to. as for giving it some stick, done that mate! went up to lakeside last night (xmas shopping, honest ;)) and stuck to 70mph of course ;), but getting to 70 was fun!!!!

see you soon

barge 19 December 2001 04:19 PM

Def reset it.

Then drive it how you want it to remember / learn, in other words give it some after the reset & smile

Its gona be cold tonight so, cold night air is more dense than hot summer air, you should be poping & banging like a goodun

To reset you will need to disconnect the battery, the time taken varies on who you talk to some say 30 mins, others say at least 2 hours.

barge 20 December 2001 06:12 PM

Go on then what happened after the reset

Markus 21 December 2001 08:43 AM

barge, you have email!

not reset it yet, am doing as we speak though! so hopefully in a few hours I'll be able to tell you.

barge 21 December 2001 03:20 PM

More than a few hours are up.

Spill the beans

Lou_C 22 December 2001 11:59 AM
