Vss 2 runs off your gearbox to either the speedo cable and then runs to your speedo or via an electric loom.

If its a cable it may have come loose if its an import it could be the derestrictor.

If its the electric variety the derestrictor chips can fail.

i bought a sh vvs for £20 from a breakers - but finally found the error to be a badly wired turbo timer.

Unlikely the Apexi just monitors the speed signal.. it doesn't use it.. unlike the original ecu with speed limiter on.
Therefore no problem on the Apexi.

Simon

so is it going to cause me anymore problems with the apexi pfc or would it be wise to replace the speed sensor??

Jolly Green Monster 18 April 2007 10:38 PM

it won't cause any problems no..

if you were to fit an Apexi AVC-R it might cause a problem with the gear judge set up if the speed sensor is not function correctly.

I assume your speed works fine?

Simon

yes the speed is fine on the speedo but it wont show my actuall speed on the fcc
do you know where the speed sensor is located?? what it looks like etc??
where would i get one without going to the main stealer??
i tried the sight listed above but the pic wasn`t very helpfull

as i said in my original post:rolleyes:

vss is on the gearbox if you look to the right of the downpipe on the gearbox you will see it - i also have 2 spare

is it a manual drive or electronic
