Yeah mine is a Turbo 2000, i have lots of plans for it but im currently trying to buy a house at the minute so they might have to wait a while. I did change the clutch a couple of weeks ago to an exedy and a lightweight flywheel from API. It didnt really need a new clutch but i had had enough of the judder that im told these cars are prone to. The new clutch and flywheel have made a massive difference to the driving of the car i really cant rate it highly enough, i just wish i had changed to it when i got the car.
What happened your door? must have been bad to need replaced. The RB320's were brilliant looking, i seen them when i was collecting my car from Eastwoods after the clutch change. Wasnt to sure on the orange decals on it but the rest of it was brilliant looking. |
I kinda gave up waving cos very few do it back lol. I've found.... (and cut me down to pieces if you disagree..) that people in newer bugeyes and hawkeys... tend to ignore me lol, whilst classic owners seem to relate more when i have a wee wave lol (the exception was the fully decaled up blobeye on the M1 a few months ago, we DEFINATELY saw each other!)
either that or I just look insane giving a wee wave all the time..... ahem. |
The Mrs was driving through Tescos car park and on of the trolley wallies had too many trolleys than he could cope with and one hit the side of the car, the guy tried to carry on as if nothing happened!!!!! :eek2: Necky ****!!
Anyway after chasing the Tescos claim I finally sorted it and its in now getting a new door!! Can't wait to get it back!! |
I forgot to add,
Does the clutch really make that much difference, cos mine is quite bad, I get loads of judder when its cold!!! |
It seems like no cars are safe around Tesco's. A mate of mine parked his car at Tesco's and one of the Tesco lorry's reveresed into it and wrecked the whole front of his car!
Yes the clutch has made a massive difference. Mine was the same as yours is now, juddering like crazy when cold and even started doing it randomly when warm. It got that bad that i didnt enjoy driving the car. Since fitting the Exedy clutch i havent had any judder and the power delivery is much smoother as well. If you want rid of that annoying judder change your clutch to an Exedy from API. It will be the best mod you will ever make to the car. |
Did you have it fitted at Eastwoods then? How much did they charge, if you don't mind me asking?? And how much did you pay for the clutch?
|
I got the clutch and a light weight flywheel through a group buy on here from API. I think it all cost about £450 but i will check that tomorrow (I would also highly recommend the lightweight flywheel if your going to change the clutch). I did get it fitted by Eastwoods although i supplied them with the gearbox oil for it which cost £50. I think the clutch change cost just under £300 but i got a couple of other things done as well so just a clutch change should be a bit less.

I think I might have to think about that then mate, I have had a look for a few Exedy ones but there seem to be a few different ones, do you know the model number of yours?
I seen a Blue impreza today by Pond Park way covered in Rally decals, think it had a roof scoop as well, looked pretty tidy, any idea whos it is??? |

There doesnt seem to be a model number on the invoice for the clutch but if you ring David at API and tell him that your after the same organic clutch that he was doing the group buy on recently. Link to the grouy buy is below: https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...t=EXEDY+CLUTCH |
Cheers mate, I will look into it :thumb:

Im in the Lisburn area on a regular basis, Blue 03 STi on the floor 18" fliter PFF7's usualy freshly polished and identifible with my wee TEIN and prodrive decals... Feel free to flash/wave at me and I will return the love :D
|
Good man JJstiuk, what type of teins have you on your car
|
Super Streets wit top mounts :)
|
What are they like on our roads over here
|
HARD!! Wouldnt bother with coilovers again to be honest, best going for a set of tein springs on standard sti shocks. Although on a nice good road they are amazing and car handles very very well.
|
Thats what i would be worried about, im looking to uprate the suspension in my own car but some of the roads i have to drive on arent the best and sometimes i think even my own car is to hard and its totally standard suspension! The roads here are terrible.
|
Yea, the roads i drive on arnt the best either and with that suspension it only takes one big pot hole to do real damage, my car is quite low so i think if i raised it a bit it would help but its 2 clicks from softest setting and its still real hard, looks great though :D
|
Im sure it does look well as imprezas seem to sit quite high as standard. You should get some photos up of your car for us all to have a look.:thumb:

Stunning car mate, looks really well. The front splitter makes a big difference on that shape of impreza
