Custom stainless from Speedware motorsport in the USA mate :D

My harnesses are yet to arrive though so looks a little silly without em on lol :D

stevebt 17 February 2007 09:26 PM

i have had one of these sitting in my garage for ages and im unsure about getting it fitted as im worried about it leaking where the vent bolts thru the roof !!!

Mangel 18 February 2007 04:53 PM

Clear silicon sealant works wonders!!!

frayz 18 February 2007 05:42 PM

I used no sealant on mine at all. Its all designed to bolt up dry and im sure it will be fine.

EddScott 19 February 2007 01:06 PM

Looks

Did you do it yourself?

Have bugeyes got map lights between the visors? Just ask cos I'm thinking of doing this for my classic :)

Yes mate i did it all by myself.. :D

Yes they have map lights,.. these will have to be removed along with the cage thats holds them to fit the vent.

EddScott 23 February 2007 09:51 AM

Brave man!

Not sure I could trust myself cutting a hole in the roof. The parts place quoted about £200 for all the bits so I'll be doing it at some point.

Trying to get hold of STI RA blue seats at the moment so the roof vent will have to go on hold - for now :)

Cheers for the info :thumb:

frayz 29 March 2007 02:39 AM

Heya guys,

Sorry i haven't yet had time to write this tutorial that i promised you.

I have been very busy recently, however i do have another vent to fit in a friends STi in the very near future. So I think we will be using his car as the photoshoot for the tutorial as it will be better to have someone else take the pics whilst I do the work.

Check back soon :D

Rice Rocket 27 April 2007 08:16 AM

lol, i thought that may have been the case.

Just one question, where did you measure from to start the oval? or is it once the inside bracket is attached, can you then work out where the oval goes.?

Phil 27 April 2007 10:37 AM

Frayz

So what was the cost in the end ?

I appreciate the labour element can add a fair bit but I have a mate that would do it ...............................I think :D:D

First question was serious btw ;)

Cost for what Phil?

The vent kit?

The vent kit is circa £220 landed and painted (sometimes a little more depending on customs charges etc). I wouldnt fit one for less than £200.

So say £450 tops fitted.:thumb:
