If you're talking about the whistling / chattering noise, then this was covered in a recent thread. Apparantly it has something to do with the anti-lag systems fitted to the car. Chris |
Chris,
why is the scooby's so loud compared to the other rally car's. nick |
To be honest Nick - I haven't a clue. Perhaps like most Scooby owners, the rally boys just like big loud exhausts and Blitz induction systems http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Chris |
Nick,
Is it a fluttery/chirpy noise. Wastegate or dump valve perhaps? Lee |
Lee, yes it is a chirpy noise, seem's to happen when burnsey lift's of the throttle, my guess is it's the wastegate , but what do i know :d:d:d

ANTI-LAG.....That was banned ages ago matey!!!!! (IN WRC ANYHOW)
It's wastegate chatter!!!!!! Shaun. |
Well I didn't say it was true http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Anyway here's the thread I was searching for. People more technically qualified than myself have responded: |
Shaun...
No one has told the manufacturers then, cos they all use it. In fact the cars would be undriveable without it. If you want LOUD, catch the Skoda WRC cars. They are twice as loud as anything else http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif |
I apologise for that last statment.
A friend of mine told me they had banned it on WRC cars now....oh well. But anyway http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Anti-lag makes the pop's and BANGS & Wastegate Chatter makes the chirps. Shaun. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif |
Where do you get your information Shaun?
