Alternative motors

i'm bored so I thught I would ask;

If HEAVEN FORBID that no more scoobs were built and you had to spend your hard earned sheckles on a different motor (not an equivalent such as an evo) so any thing other than a car that is both 4 wheel drive turbo charged as standard, what would you buy?

Personally I would probably buy an M3 or maybe a skyline

Just thought I would ask

pippyrips 11 January 2007 04:08 PM

i've caught myself thinking about Noble's recently

DannyBoy007 11 January 2007 04:22 PM

Wouldn't touch a BMW with a barge pole, Too many of the damn things on the road.

For me, After owning a 4wd I don't think I'd ever have a car that isn't, I'm quite liking pickup trucks (Nissian) at the moment but I'd love a skyline, but I only like the look of the R34 GTR.

Also wouldn't mind a RS Audi either a 4 or 6.

Me too! If it wasnt for running costs i would already have a TVR Tuscan:( , kind of gutted i havnt got one but the scoob is a better all round car.

Probably have another Fabia VRS and spend money on it to sort its handling. Or if I didnt need to take kids anywhere a nice sorted MX5

My choice too

bluerigster 12 January 2007 08:14 AM

Porsche 997 turbo. Stunning :)
97 thousand quid is a bit of a downer though.

The Trooper 1815 12 January 2007 08:38 AM

Ditto Wide.

Wifey's MX-5 does pull at my heart strings every time I drive it. It really is a fun, easy and fantastic handling car. 6 speed box on the Mk2.5 Sport is the best action I have ever driven.

Bullet proof mechanicals, cheap to run (her insurance is only £235 with A-Plan !!!!!) and loads of goodies to buy aftermarket. Sadly, the dog don't fit behind the seats:(

Dan W 12 January 2007 08:50 AM

When I originally posted this thread I was kinda thinking about cars that could be picked up easily, not really dream machines. But now we are on the subject if money were no object my garage would contain (in no particular order)

1970 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 Hemi,
Skyline GTR 32 (prefer the rawness not found in the 33 or 34)
Ariel Atom
Impreza type 25
BMW M5 (I know what some of you might think)
Koenigsegg CCR

big daz2 12 January 2007 09:37 AM

m3 or audi rs6 in blue.or cossy rs500

The Trooper 1815 12 January 2007 09:52 AM

Mk 1 MX-5 from about £2k, Mk2 from £2.5k
Mk2 Golf GTi 8V for about £1500 in top spec from Volkswizard or Golf GTi G60 Wolfsburg Edition :thumb:

Guy i Blackwood done the opposite, sold a 911 turbo and bought a brand new RS4 Cab.

If we are talking dream garages, lottery win type garages then i'd have:

- Spec C Type 25 as a "run around"
- Low Milage 22b
- Low Milage Eccort Cosworth
- BLack Ferrari F430 Cab
- Yellow Lambo MURCIELAGO LP640
and probably a few others, would need a damm big garage:eek:.

wide 12 January 2007 03:19 PM

This rhread would have been better staying realistic as its interesting what others would drive with what they could afford. We can all dream:)

bluerigster 12 January 2007 04:28 PM

Dream car is Porsche 997 turbo.

Realistic alternative is a Honda integra DC5 with a supercharger.

I know someone with a DC5 who is planning on doing a supercharge conversion, he has owned a Supercharged CTR previously, so i'm sure it won't be long before he gets it done.

The V10 TDi pulled a Jumbo Jet on 5th gear recently, probably the best programme of the series, well apart from the Type 25.

matscooby 18 January 2007 04:50 PM

Being realistic I would have to have 2 cars :

Everyday car - Audi A4 TDI New Model
Weekend car - 3dr Seirra Cosworth in black
