Ecutek remap will it do anything?

Has anyone had a completely standard MY99 classic remapped using Ecutek, and if so what was the result?
Seems like a good idea as I was told a remap would make it run better with improved mpg if it didn't give more power and it wouldn't arouse the insurance mans interest.:wonder:

You'd have to declare it to the insurance company even if it didn't increase your power (which it would, although not by nearly as much as if you had other modifications done). On that basis I'd wait till you get at least exhaust modifications done before splashing out on a remap.

what sort of results would you get with just a magnex cat back and a panel filter ?or would there be more to be had if you got rid of the down pipe cat and what sort of cost are we talking uk my 99 wagon

MY99/00 can get upto 275-280BHP with decat exhaust, filter and a good ECUTEK remap.
ECUTEK remap with just a rear box and still Cat'd I would expect about 265BHP.

One guy on here got 261bhp with just a Revolution 3inch exhaust and panel filter....

But that depends on if you trust Dyno results or not ;)
