Bug Eye Scoobs

Where can I get a list of all the different versions/editions of the Bug Eye scoob?

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:00 PM

erm, SIDC perhaps, but i can name as many as i can lol :

WRX, WRX STi, WRX STi Prodrive style, WRX STi Spec C, S202, WRX STi Spec C type RA

Diesel_DC 07 January 2007 08:05 PM

looked on SIDC faq's only got classic models on there.

But WRX STi Prodrive style was the one I was looking for and info on this model?

sherlock 07 January 2007 08:08 PM

What do you want to know? I have got one and will do my best to help, if i can't i'm sure some one on here will.

Sherlock

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:13 PM

I have one too lol
what you wanna know?
very rare model ( compared to most bug eyes)
basically a type UK STi 2.0 with a prodrive front bumper with wraparound fog covers, a different grill with no STi badge, and a high level STi spoiler ( same as later STis had)
They didnt all come with the PPP and are insured as 'bodykitted' standard STIs
very nice looking cars, best of the range in my opinion :D ( unbiased natch lol)

Diesel_DC 07 January 2007 08:16 PM

Thanks guys, wanted to know spec, performance, basically what sets them apart from other Sti's

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:21 PM

spec and performance are the same as the standard STi of the same year, i.e forged pistons ( last year 2002 where forged pistons were used in UK STis) blue interior, black carpet, intercooler water spray, brembo brakes, black cased projector beam style headlamps, adjustable shift light on rev counter, 6 spd box, no DCCD.

differences are cosmetic spoiler and front bumper unless PPP was fitted

hope that clears it up

sherlock 07 January 2007 08:24 PM

As Timmy said really, i think the black ones were limited to only 1000, 265bhp as std, mine is insured as a prodrive type UK, depends where you go. Oh and don't forget the different front lights.

Sherlock

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:25 PM

black like mine were limited to 100 actually so i believe, and the lights are actually the same as the standard STi, the 'prodrive lights' as fitted to UK300 etc are not the ones on the prodrive style bugeye, contraray to what many people seem to think :)

sherlock 07 January 2007 08:34 PM

There you go i stand corrected :) so that's 2 of the 100! only 98 left to find :D

Sherlock

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:36 PM

Frayz has another black one, so thats 3, and he found another one or 2 on here, so we are nearly there lol.. well weve got about 5% as members on scoobynet !

Mr Wallace 07 January 2007 08:36 PM

Andy.

TimmyboyWRX 07 January 2007 08:38 PM

nice car, not sure how many were made in blue, but id be guessing same as black, so maybe 100 or so, altho there do seem to be more blue prodrives than black ones around on these boards

Diesel_DC 07 January 2007 08:40 PM

Nice bit of info guys.

frayz 07 January 2007 08:40 PM

Im here :D

Only 100 black ones ever made, to add to Timmyboys list of differences, they had a blue sti gauge cluster of which i dont think the others had :D

Yep, the Black/Blue Mica was only produced for 100 cars. So very rare indeed.

Here's mine.

Right side under the Sti grill badge.

andythejock01wrx 07 January 2007 10:50 PM

I have a mere WRX Bugeye (albeit modded to 273bhp).

When I bought the car the garage didn't know what kind of bodykit was fitted to it - do you reckon it's Prodrive ? (Couldn't see it on their site).

Any thoughts much appreciated !
