Trunkmonkey 01 January 2007 05:11 PM

I like the flaps. I wanted some myself but was told Id need to remove the splash guards. Youve still got yours on so maybe I'll go ahead and buy some now.

I'm thinking of doing it myself and have seen a scoob with splash guards and mud flaps on together!!

Stiver3 01 January 2007 05:35 PM

Looks good with flaps! More lairy... but definitely sets it off nicely. Although I would remove the splash guards first.

Are your flaps stiff (oooh errr!) or have you had somebody follow you & said that they flap in the wind. Did that make sense? You know what I mean, like the rally cars flaps flap in the wind.

Stiver3 01 January 2007 06:07 PM

Mine flap back when moving above 40 mph ish....

They are fairly thick and solid but not ridgid. They are not the plastic type that you can buy.

I wanted ones which moved however, looks cool rolling then with the flaps back at speed.

Get it flapped up. Cheap mod that improves the look and saves paint on the lower doors.

boxman2000 01 January 2007 07:09 PM

I've just got some black flaps for my black WRX - in my opinion don't bother flapping unless it's the same colour as your car.

That last post is a classic example of an improved car with a £50 mod

Get some black ones. A necessary mod.

Nürburg_Ringa 01 January 2007 09:25 PM

id like to get some flaps for my red classic uk turbo. but all the ones i see always have either "sti" or "wrx" on them. without hijacking the thread, where is generally the best place to get them... was thinking wither black flaps or carbon fibre jobbies, with simple subaru swooshes on them...

ive tried searching to no avail:confused:

hmmm i was thinking of getting black mudflaps for my red car? would that look silly considering shes wearing p1 oz-racing alloys... was thinking red swoosh detailing on them to colour code...

Flaps 04 January 2007 11:02 AM

I think they should be predominantly black or the same colour as the car, otherwise they stand out too much.
Choc, I think your idea of black with red writing would look fine. If you didn't like the stickers you could always peel them off anyway.
