Does this look about right?
As title really. Started to fit my FMIC today, (from Flat4Online). Would like to know from someone who's fitted one, if the position of this hard pipe looks about right:
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...itting0022.jpg I must point out that the above pipe isn't connected to the turbo yet. The thing is, I dont really see how that pipe is going to connect with the one thats going to go from the I/C  On that point, does anyone have a side picture of where the I/C pipework runs, so I can work out where to cut the inner wing? Preferably on an early classic (MY94) like mine. :wonder: I read the Hybrid front mount fitting guide, but all the pics were little red x's. So some pics would be of great use if someone has some. :thumb: Some other pics incase someone can add arrows or something to indicate the pipework route on the drivers side and where to chop the inner wing: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...itting0023.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...itting0012.jpg If someone can help with this I'd be very grateful. I'll be trying to get it finished tomorrow, so I would really appreciate a speedy response, please and thanks :thumb: :) Micky. |

lol yer cutted theres no chance ull fit the pipe thru unless u cut the hole bigger.i had a nightmare fitting my intercooler.let us kno how it goes.:thumb:

the hard pipe seems like its on the wrong side... try fliping it maybe, methinks it should curve down where it curves up, at the end there.
my .02 cents steve |

The pic does look about right.
Try searching the Gallery, I'm sure theres a few Hybrid install pics in there, as well as projects |
The pic does look right but you will need to modify the pipe a bit to get it to fit the turbo. some pics of mine

I have had mine put on and I had to have the up pipe to the inlet manifold adjusted at two points as it was hitting the engine and the fuel filter, here is pics of end results

Thanks for all your input :thumb:
Got it finished this afternoon. Only thing I'm not happy about is that I had to lose my air-con. I'll get some pictures up soon. Micky :D |
Take 1 grinder, 1 inner wing, and chop a bloody big hole in said wing :lol1:
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7..._day_20013.jpg Naked full frontal with hard pipes in place: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7..._day_20020.jpg Apexi induction kit went back on, refitted vacuum pipes and checked hose clamps were all tightened :thumb: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7..._day_20017.jpg Fully clothed full frontal: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...x/Finished.jpg Thats the short version of todays events. :lol1: I have to say that I'm really grateful to all the help given, both on SN and on my mates driveway and over the phone from people. :thumb: Job done, 2 days in the cold but well worth it :D |
Would personally recommend lagging the hot side from the turbo under the air filter..Any heat managment you can do around there is always benefitial...
|
:lol1: Yeah, we meant to do that. My mate who was helping me said yesterday that he still had some exhaust wrap and that we should really do the pipe that runs above the turbo. But what with all the pipework shenanigans we sort of forgot ;) :iamwithst
I'll get it sorted at some point soon. :thumb: |

Am glad I've waited to get a FMIC, all the write ups are quite good, it'll make life alot easier. Good job guys :thumb:
