EIBACH SRINGS
Just bought a set of these a wondered if anyone could tell me of their experience in fitting them as i gather the rubber spring seats are reused thanks in advance Ian.

Anyone ?

Apparently they can shift about slightlywhen steering, as they're slightly different size than standard springs. Causes a few knocking sounds. Easy to sort though, several threads mention them. I believe you can wrap some of the coils in rubber tubing, which keeps them a bit quieter.
I've also got a set, but yet to fit them. When I do, I'll let you know. Mine will be going on some brand new shocks and STi GroupN top-mounts, so might be tricky for me to comment on the springs alone. |
I did notice a pair of springs have tubing around a couple of coils and the other pair have nothing but the pair with tubing look like they go on the rear, maybe wrong!
|
Yup, mine do to. I believe people also add extra rubber tubing to other coils on the front springs.
|
Mine came with rubber tubing on the rear. They are longer, but I believe designed to run partially compressed.

Make sure you put the frts and the rears on the right way.... They are not marked Frt or RR !!!!!!! (I didn't!) :(

Ive got some instructions with pictures that I did for True grip if you want them for Eibach spring replacement.
