26" one in the study is spot on :thumb:

Mate's just bought that Samsung - its all subjective but I think it looks sh1t. Far too bright and looks rubbish unless used with an HD source.

Huxley Chick 01 December 2006 10:08 PM

We have a 32" & a 19" - very pleased with them, I have to say :thumb:

We spent ages looking for our 32" & comparing to the others around & we felt it had the best picture quality, but at the end of the day, it's all down to personal choice ;)

I did have to play around with the tv settings for a while but once set up I can't fault them

I have a 40" LCD Samsung, I've had it about 5 months now & the only problem is something vibrates a little bit when you have the volume too high.
Can't fault the picture with an HD source & I think the gloss black case is top:thumb:.

I've got a 32 & a 19 in the bedroom and like them.

Crap - Go for the Panasonic 42" Viera Plasma (Which Mag states "The Best Flat Panel we have tested - ever!) guess which I bought!!

simo 02 December 2006 09:00 AM

didn't want a 42" in the study & have the Panny 37" in the lounge already :thumb:

alistair 02 December 2006 09:02 AM

jods - it depends where you're putting it..... some rooms just won't take a 42" and it's also a little bit more expensive ;)

I've got Pioneer 50" & a 43" downstairs, but 32" is big ehough for the bedroom :)

Ditto, got the 26" R74 in the bedroom, just watched Shrek 2 with my daughter, pin sharp even with a £4.99 scart from the DVD player, get some decent RGB scarts and the picture gets even better, the PS2 looks rather impressive on there as well, my Bros in law has the 42" and when he hooked his PS2 up and ran GT4 I thought he had Xbox 360 the graffix were that good.

A big :thumb: up from me :)

mart360 02 December 2006 03:35 PM

but its only 32"

you need 40+ to appeciate a big panel tv :)

Another vote for the Veira range here - stunning stuff.

Buying a second Viera for the bedroom, very happy with it - especially being a Sony man at heart.

I wouldnt really agree with that, I have sky plus linked up to my samsung and I'm pretty pleased with the results. The game mode for my 360 is excellent.

the game mode is good but to really get the best out of the tv you really need hd feed

nathanb 03 December 2006 06:07 PM

Fair enough mate. Prob look into that in the future. Just out of interest what settings do Samsung owners have their picture set at?

Nick 03 December 2006 06:13 PM

I've had some experience earlier this year of Samsung consumer warranty on a Samsung Plasma. The warranty dept is in India somewhere & they stink, I wouldn't buy a large Samsung item because of that. I do have one of their crappy phones though. :wonder:
